I think this has been discussed before, and I don't know if anything came of it, but is there anyway to try and ensure that people are voting based on the covers, and nothing else?

Quite a bit of drama going on in here, this thread topic needs new blood, otherwise its going to be like 6 covers per week, I really don't know what's the problem all it needed was shifting the days around to cater for everyone. And the 20 point deduction has been there since its first inception. I see members online before the deadline, and they vote close to closing time, when you could have taken the time to vote for the covers instead of waiting for the reminder. In the end its your own fault.

Is there even much point in this anymore? I don't mean to sound pessimistic but we've barely had enough covers to vote for recently and now it seems like we've lost two of the best contributors.

 

On the topic of whether people just vote for their favourite members then I would have to disagree. I used to think the same but various people have won this year and usually the top three are all worthy. Also, the point reductions... I do agree that 20 points is a lot but we've always had to vote before Sunday evening (despite the occasional delay). We can't be too shocked to lose points if we fail to vote, although I'm sure if people mentioned to Jack beforehand that they needed an extension due to being away etc then he would allow it. Anyway, the dates are changing to accomodate those who don't use the internet during the weekends.

As for voting....What if someone put a link of this thread on their signature to kinda, promote it.... I wouldn't mind - I'd love if we had more than 12/13 covers.. It would make it more exciting...

i don't have the time, energy and incentive right now to carry on taking part - after pretty much constantly taking part for the past year

 

anyways "Jack Sykes" has removed me from the leaderboard (at my request) so cheers for that - no loss to him as i was never in his gang anyway haha

Artists? As in the musicians/bands themselves? If so, I don't think any of the top three this week actually have fans on Buzzjack, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Its a shame you have made some excellent covers, and your work has been one of the best on here. Some of the covers in your signature are excellent.
