Going a little off topic reward to 1984 when Madonna and Cyndi Lauper were so called rivals (just like the Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera of 1999). Madonna was said to be a one hit wonder and would be gone after Holiday and Cyndi Lauper was going to be the mega star by the media. Cyndi Lauper won Best New Artist of 1984 at the grammy's beating Madonna.

(Did you know that the guys who wrote "Like A Virgin" for Madonna (Billy Steinberg & Tom Kelly) also wrote "True Colors" for Cyndi Lauper? Both US #1 singles, Cyndi even has a song called "Madonna Whore" though she says it's not about that Madonna). Cyndi is still releasing music but hasn't been in the top 75 singles or album charts since 1997 (in the UK)!.

 

Anyways, Is there any Cyndi Lauper singles or albums you like or love or...?. Suggest something if you like.

I really love Into The Nightlife - a brilliant single should of made the top 75 here easy!.

Time After Time. And True Colors are great too! I love her acoustic versions of them too.

For some reason I never got into Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

 

Albums wise I suggest listening to her 2008 album "Bring Ya To The Brink" it's a really good dance album ok it's no Confessions... But it's worth a look there's no bad tracks.

 

I love GJWHF and TC but Cyndi Lauper isnt even half of the women Madonna is ;)
