In my travels in Nashville, Tennessee I came across an event where 8 bands were playing a free concert. Most of the bands weren't anything to write home about, mainly style over substance, but the last band of the night, Big Surr, really took my breath away. They're heavily influenced by 90s indie like Ride and Spiritualized, and they also remind me of comtemporary revivalists The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Yuck (who they've supported). This is the only track they've got on the internet - they've released an EP but in true indie style they've released it as a limited to 30 cassette (I've got number 10)

Anyway, your thoughts?

Picked up a couple of their tracks off the elbo.ws blog aggregator - http://elbo.ws/tracks/Big+Surr

But I'm definitely hearing more Darling Buds than Ride or Spirtualized. These may just be very lo-fi demos though. Not a bad wee tip, thanks.
