This record has supposedly sold 12 copies, all in Sweden

Yet I bought it from iTunes UK

As did I, it must be a load of rubbish. But I also don't understand why anybody would go to so much effort to make such things up so it's very bizarre.

Here's another one I bought last month on iTunes: http://www.digitalsalesdata.com/displayTra...+Secret+is+Love

No UK sales...if I was the one making this up, I'd at least put a few 'sales' in each box so that people wouldn't be able to challenge it.

It's waaaaaaay too much work to make up all of that every day. He probably has a formula that converts pop bars/iTunes positions to sales or something, and maybe it only counts songs that have reached the top 300 on iTunes?

Given that all the charts are only top 100, it may only count a song which appears in that top 100?

There are songs charting outside the top 100 though, with 5 sales you aren't inside the top 100 on iTunes in the UK...

The total sales don't seem accurate.

Edit: For example, according to this site, Price Tag has sold in the UK around 380k digital sales (all versions included). The info we have is that Price Tag has sold 618k in the UK... 618k - 380k = 238k. I doubt Price Tag has sold the 40% of its sales in physical format + other download sites.

In the price tag example and some other could the answer be that the sales are only for the 'single' version. And that sales for the album track version are not lumped in together.
No95 in Luxembourg- Dr Dre/ Still D.R.E

So, basically, somebody bought it?

BTW, has anyone tried storing this sales data daily, so that the 7 day totals can be compared against the ones we get from MW on Monday? If it's true that they are iTunes-only, we might at least get an idea of what proportion of total singles sales come from iTunes.

Yes, I've noticed their dates seem out of whack.

The above comes to ~85k, by the looks of it, and I expect it to sell 120-150k in total.

I might be reading that wrong, but it makes it look like J-Lo's highest day of sales was the Friday? I think it's obvious it would've been the Sunday, surely!?
