I can't see it just being X Factor influence as she has the US #1 album and mighty in mainland Europe.

This week she has the Top 2 singles in Holland - #1 is Set Fire To The Rain and #2 is Rolling In The Deep she also has the #1 album

In Germany she's at #3 with Rolling In The Deep after 11 chart weeks also #3 album

In France #7 with Rolling In The Deep and #3 album

In Austria #8 with Rolling In The Deep and #7 album

In Switzerland #7 with Rolling In The Deep and #3 album

In Belgium (Walloon charts) #3 with Rolling In The Deep and #6 album - (Flanders Chart) #2 with Rolling In The Deep and #3 album

In Slovenia #11 (climbing) with Someone Like You and #29 after 14 weeks with Rolling In The Deep

She's even #28 in Brazil with Rolling In The Deep

And so the list goes on...

Probably the most valid point in this discussion! If lack of competition was the reason then every Jan/Feb we would have someone selling 1.5 million albums in 10 weeks!

It depends, she's selling massively more that any other album ever has at this time of the year, yet every week album sales seem to be a small % away from the same week last year so there must have been at least some more competition than this year?

People are sick of beep beep in da club music , an alternative was needed for the non 15-24 masses. She came around at the right time. Stripped down music with soul.

I'm still not a massive fan although the brits won me over somewhat. I love MYFML and SLU but ROITD really gets on my nerves.

It's all thanks to Mr. Dylan tbh.
The first Adele album was incredibly patchy and all over the place.....

And was eventually overshadowed by Duffy's "Rockferry". Talking about turning tables.

because Duffy decided not to promote her latest album....and decided to release the mediocre 'Well well well' instead of the classic 'Keeping my baby' , while Adele chose the right time, the right single and actually promoted the album!!!!

(On another topic, I thought you were a fan of Gaga?)

She's had some ok songs - but her 'Madonna-by-numbers' routine, and the 'look at me' costumes, the ridiculous entrances with her knocking on the side of an egg for someone to PLEASE NOTICE ME... ah.... it's all a bit embarrassing, don't you think? Plus..... Born This Way is a truly, truly awful song.

Am I going mad or wasn't Make You Feel My Love also on an advert or trailer all the time at some point? I don't watch X Factor but I was very aware of the song for a fair while before I knew who it was by.
