Boys are band for Take That

Apr 5 2011 Bev Lyons

THE Pet Shop Boys have been revealed as Take That's support act at Glasgow's Hampden Park in June. :cheer:

The 80s pop icons will join Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen on the massive Progress Live tour, Take That's first as a five-piece band since 1995.

And Gary revealed he was desperate to have the West End Girls stars on board - as he has been a fan since childhood.

He said: "A Pet Shop Boys song was the first CD I ever bought. I've followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance.

"That combined with two lovely people means we're in for a great tour."

Robbie agreed: "I'm a huge Pet Shop Boys fan so, for me, it will be an absolute joy to be able to watch them every night."

And Jason even admitted he thought the pair would turn down the invitation, saying: "They're so talented, I thought they'd be above it and us."

Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, however, were clearly thrilled to be asked to join the tour, which is at Hampden on June 22, 23 and 24.

They said: "We are delighted to accept Take That's invitation to be part of their Progress show and tour.

"We look forward to every night being a huge celebration of pop music."

 some people on RW and TT forums don't know who PSB are

For anyone who hasn't heard of them

see here

How can people not know who the PSB's are?

Everyone I've spoken to at work who is going to the gigs is delighted with ' I prefer them to TT' being the most common response

I know - its ridiculous! I'm not their greatest fan but even I can appreciate (or at least accept) that they've contributed more to British Music than Robbie Williams or Gary Barlow will ever do.

It really should be Take That supporting The PSB's.
