March 31, 201114 yr Author I just checked - it got 7. So it would have been 16th with 62 points without them. Of course that isn't taking off any other -2s though from songs directly lower than that, though. There's only 1 song left that I voted for - The KLF :( So them to win please. Though I wouldn't mind Cher, Britney, Madge (sounds so stereotypical BJ of me here, but those are all brilliant female pop songs!) or Take That. Anything else would be kinda icky in terms of supposedly being the best #1 of the 1990s. Coolio woz robbed. My fave 90s #1 (and in my top five fave #1s ever) and it only comes 14th :( I actually expected slightly better even though it's a dreaded hip hop song, as it's one of the most well-known hip hop songs of all-timeee. It came 40th in the BBC 2 top 100 singles of all time countdown if I remember correctly - best selling hip hop song of all time
March 31, 201114 yr And that Spice Girls video is ICONIC, by the way. Don't hate. Although I preferred the Spice Up Your Life video - which for ages I thought was the coolest video I had ever seen, until I grew up and started watching more videos and realised it really wasn't impressive at all

Although I preferred the Spice Up Your Life video - which for ages I thought was the coolest video I had ever seen, until I grew up and started watching more videos and realised it really wasn't impressive at all  I'm not hating, it just really creeps me out and it seems bizarre that it was a Spice Girls video. I had always associated it in my memory with some random emo rock band (as I had long forgotten what the actual song sounded like) Edited March 31, 201114 yr by Bray
March 31, 201114 yr that Viva Forever video is so hilariously ludicrous - it made me laugh when I first saw it  like the song though, just behind WDYTYA and 2 Become 1 for me Edited March 31, 201114 yr by chart wizard
March 31, 201114 yr My list would be 1. U2 - The Fly 2. The Verve - The Drugs Dont Work 3. The Prodigy - Firestarter 4. Adamski - Killer 5. Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This 6. Madonna - Frozen 7. Queen - Innuendo 8. Oasis - Some Might Say 9. Blur - Beetlebum 10. KLF - 3am Eteranl Many of my faves have done well
March 31, 201114 yr That's a fantastic top ten, seriously. A great mix of fantastic chart toppers from males and females, which definitely bucks the usual trend on BJ countdowns. ATB continues as the most pleasant surprise for me - sure it's easily my favourite 90s #1, but I definitely didn't think that this was an opinion shared by too many!
March 31, 201114 yr Reckon the top 5 will have Britney, Snap!, at least one Madonna and possibly Oasis in it. Hope the latter is there anyway ^_^ Expected 'Stay' to be top 10, it got the most points in the first round! :o Edited March 31, 201114 yr by MancunianGiraffe
March 31, 201114 yr Reckon the top 5 will have Britney, Snap!, at least one Madonna and possibly Oasis in it. Hope the latter is there anyway ^_^ Expected 'Stay' to be top 10, it got the most points in the first round! :o I think one of the reasons that Stay got such a high amount of points in the first round was down to 1992 only having 12 number ones. This meant that most of the acts in 1992 got a decent share of votes and weren't omitted from people's lists. Obviously it helps also that it's a fantastic song!
April 1, 201114 yr Shocked Madonna has 2 songs left in the top 10. :o I like all the songs left but my least fave is Vogue. My top 10 predictions: 1 Oasis "Don't Look Back In Anger" 2 Take That "Back For Good" 3 Madonna "Frozen" 4 Britney Spears "...Baby One More Time" 5 The Verve "The Drugs Don't Work" 6 ATB "9PM (Till' I Come)" 7 Madonna "Vogue" 8 Snap! "Rhythym is a Dancer" 9 Cher "Believe" 10 The KLF feat. The Children of the Revolution "3AM Eternal
April 1, 201114 yr Great to see "9PM (Till' I Come)", "Frozen" and "...Baby One More Time" in top 10, all 3 classics to me!
April 1, 201114 yr I knew the Wildcard idea would be a good one! :P Pleased Blur made it so high, given that to the general public it's not very well remembered at all. It is, however, a wonderful song, one of my favourites by them (my favourite act ever) and probably my favourite number one of all time. A shame 'Gangster's Paradise' didn't make the top 10, it seems to be one song which is universally loved by people who are fans of all different types of music. It's the one song from that genre that just seems to bring everyone together. I'll be quite happy with 6 of the top 10 winning, just as long as it isn't Cher.
April 1, 201114 yr Author 10 - Take That "Back For Good" (1995) (+76) UK's biggest boyband who are still around today with their classic and best-selling "Back For Good" scrapes the top ten on BJ wZybfm4CXos
April 1, 201114 yr Author 09 - ATB "9PM (Till' I Come)" (1999) (+80) ATB's first single that spent 2 weeks at the top spot is in BJ's favourite ten. Yay for BJ having TASTE!!! ri6Efk1SPJc
April 1, 201114 yr That's great for ATB, who'd have thought it would come top ten in the final? Not me! Good for Take That too, my 3rd favourite of their 90s singles but I prefer Never Forget and Pray personally - all are 9/10 songs at least though imo.
April 1, 201114 yr Author 08 - Snap! "Rhythm is a Dancer" (1992) (+87) The second of the Snap! singles comes 40 places higher than the first. This song spent 6 weeks at number one. WMPM1q_Uyxc
April 1, 201114 yr Author 07 - The KLF feat. The Children of the Revolution "3AM Eternal" (1991) (+91) The only number one for The KLF is this, and it has done very well for a rap song - although some would argue it is a dance song and not rap. LXEOESuiYcA So which one of these songs will sadly miss the top 5, predict: - I obviously won't be predicting as I know all Britney Spears "... Baby One More Time" Cher "Believe" Madonna "Frozen" Madonna "Vogue" Oasis "Don't Look Back In Anger" The Verve "The Drugs Don't Work"
April 1, 201114 yr Oasis FTW. But as i've said before Madonna or Britney will probably win. Please not an all female top 4!
April 1, 201114 yr Author 06 - Britney Spears "... Baby One More Time" (1999) (+94) The first number one for Britney, and a million seller. She is still around today with new album "Femme Fatale" TKo4fFVymqk
