Posted April 9, 201114 yr From http://www.musicrooms.net/rock/30590-u2-ha...-tour-ever.html Bono and The Edge may have been having a hard time recently over their Spiderman musical, but now them and U2 as a whole have something to celebrate as their 360 tour is about to enter the record books as the highest grossing tour in history. The group are due to play the second of three nights in Brazil this weekend, and as they do the 360 tour will become the to earner, surpassing the previous holder of the title, The Rolling Stones’ Bigger Bang Tour which grossed over $558 million between 2005-2007. And the U2 boys aren’t finished until July. The tour continues over the next couple of months, ending in Canada at the end of July by which time it will have amassed an incredible, and quite frankly unbelievable $700 million. Perhaps Bono should consider this a sign that his calling lies with recording and performing rock music and not theatrical productions. Just an idea. :o
April 9, 201114 yr Author Then again, this tour started in 1985. Or it seems like that anyway.
April 10, 201114 yr Has to be the longest tour ever! Apart from this one, what's the average time a U2 tour normally lasts?
April 11, 201114 yr Author Dunno. They have tended to split their recent tours. A few months in Europe. A big gap. A few months in the US etc. It's quite hard to know where the old tour ends and the new one begins  Although this one has been exceptionally drawn out (in part because of Bono's back injury). I can't believe this is the same tour I saw at Hampden in August 2009
