What will happen is there will be 10 rounds, the first being 1990, then 1991 etc. up to round 10 which will be 1999. The top 4 from each round will go straight to the final, and 5th to 7th placed will go in a "wildcard" round. The top ten songs from the "wildcard" round will be put into the final round to make a top 50 of the decade. After the final the next rate will be 00s number 2s How you rate the songs; exactly the same as last time, you do not rate every song that hit number two, you just rate your ten favourites and your least favourite. You give +15 points to your favourite song, and the rest are as follows; This is to hopefully stop ties from happening inside the top 3. +15 Favourite Song +12 2nd Favourite Song +10 3rd Favourite Song +08 4th Favourite +06 5th Favourite +05 6th Favourite +04 7th Favourite +03 8th Favourite +02 9th Favourite +01 10th Favourite -02 Least Favourite, or Most Hated depending on what way you look at it These are the songs you need to rate from. You have 2 days for every round to rate. This means the deadline is Saturday morning and hopefully round 8 (1997) will be up by then. Ultimate 90s Number Twos Rate 1996 1. Bluetones “Slight Return” 2. 3T “Anything” 3. Robert Miles “Children” 4. Mark Snow “X Files” 5. Manic Street Preachers “A Design for Life” 6. Peter Andre “Mysterious Girl” 7. April 14, 201114 yr Brilliant for Set You Free, I knew it wouldn't beat Common People but to beat Wonderwall and to an extent Alright was a bit of a surprise! My 1996 scores; +15 Robert Miles “Children” +12 Underworld “Born Slippy” +10 Manic Street Preachers “A Design for Life” +8 Bluetones “Slight Return” +6 East 17 and Gabrielle “If You Ever” +5 Los Del Rio “Macarena” +4 Toni Braxton “Unbreak My Heart” +3 Mark Snow “X Files” +2 Peter Andre “Mysterious Girl” +1 Robbie Williams “Freedom” -2 3T “Why” I wouldn't count anything from this lot in my favourites of the 90s, although Children and Born Slippy I'd most likely listen to out of choice. Mysterious Girl and Freedom are definitely fillers
April 14, 201114 yr +15 Underworld “Born Slippy” Although hideously overplayed this was simply massive +12 The Bluetones “Slight Return” Still a nice wee tune +10 Manic Street Preachers “A Design for Life” The Manics went all orchestral for the first time, much better than TIMTTMY +8 Kula Shaker “Hey Dude” Not very good but the rest of the list is pretty poor +6 Mark Snow "X Files" I thought this was the dance mix but that was DJ Bobo, the original is ok then +5 Robbie Williams “Freedom” Unnecessary cover version - I'll give points to his producers for trying to make it sound like Primal Scream's Loaded +4 George Michael “Spinning the Wheel” Forgettable, but at least it's not an unnecessary cover version +3 Fugees “No Woman No Cry” Unnecessary cover version +2 Warren G feat. Adina Howard “What’s Love Got to Do With It” Unnecessary cover version +1 Los Del Rio “Macarena” One point for the comedy Spanish blokes - but yet another unncecessary cover version -2 Toni Braxton “Unbreak My Heart” Warbling pish Edited April 14, 201114 yr by richie
April 14, 201114 yr +15 Mark Snow - The X-Files +12 The Bluetones - Slight Return +10 East 17 and Gabrielle - If You Ever +8 Underworld - Born Slippy +6 Toni Braxton - Un-Break My Heart +5 Robert Miles - Children +4 Fugees - No Woman No Cry +3 3T - Anything +2 Kula Shaker - Hey Dude +1 Manic Street Preachers - A Design For Life -2 Los del Rio - Macarena Like most of them again :D Edited April 14, 201114 yr by superbossanova
April 14, 201114 yr It will be very difficult for A Design for Life to compete with Born Slippy or Children - third is the best it can hope for. :( Plus there's a strong chance Slight Return will beat it too. Just have to settle for wild card position. Edited April 14, 201114 yr by tonyttt31
April 14, 201114 yr I disagree with it being a potential wildcard, for the second round in a row it seems to me that there's a clear runaway top 4 here, and A Design For Life will deservedly be one of those songs. At worst it will come 4th, which is still a direct qualification.

April 14, 201114 yr Oh my god! The number 2's are, quite literally, number 2's!
