Posted April 30, 201114 yr I was thinking today about the recent death of Poly Styrene and it occured to me that a seemingly disproportionate amount of the 70s punk and post punk scene are dying quite young. If you exclude Sid Vicious and Malcolm Owen (who died in the 70s) we've had Joe Strummer, Ari Up, Malcolm McLaren, 4 of the original Ramones, Arthur Kane and Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls, Lux Interior and Rowland Howard. And they're just the more famous ones. However, with the exception of Thunders, who may have been murdered, they are all of natural causes. Given that there just weren't that many succesful Punk bands that seems a rather large death rate and they're not all known as hellraisers either. I just find it rather odd and sad Edited April 30, 201114 yr by Severin
April 30, 201114 yr You missed out Ian Dury - or don't you consider him to be part of the punk movement?
