We ALL knew Cheryl would have no chance at being a good US judge as she has a bad accent for the US and 0% popularity there. Her career isn't far from over. Bye bye Cole, the US have better people than you!

Being serious now, having Cheryl on the US panel wouldn't make her popular there, she just isn't good enough to crossover and she should have stayed here. :(

HALLELUJAH

I knew this would happen but not so soon.Anyone here still claiming Cheryl actually has any real vocal talent or can sing better than Nicole is on drugs.

She was never going to bring all the hype and attention Simon needed for the show and AI and The Voice have done so well an American judge with talent was needed.

Nicole is a great live singer and performer and was so good as an X-factor UK judge-I am actually really happy for her and the fact that Biffa has gone.

Because she is my favourite popstar ever, and this will most probably kill her career, as well as probably affect her personnal life. :(

It won't kill her career. She just needs to come back to the UK, possibly do X Factor if ITV takes her back, churn out another alouette -uette -uette and focus on the Aloud after Nicola finishes her debut era off. Once that happens her career will be "Girls Aloud bandmember who ventured solo and had a gig judging on the X Factor talent show." instead of "Former member of Girls Aloud, who had a couple of solo hit records in the UK, judged in the X Factor, and tried to break the US but failed miserably.".

If this is true, I'm really gonna cry for her. :(

Divorce, malaria, and now global humiliation following a X Factor boot. She deserved none of this, and I just hope she won't fall into a breakdown à la Britney. She will need a lot of strenghts to survive to this, career wise. Boo. :(

Poor Chezza, we love you.

LOL

Oh please, Jamesp and everyone, could we avoid any arguments or such around that story?

I'm not the only fan on here who's going to be upset and sad if this is confirmed, so it'd be nice if all of you could respect that and not make laugh of us.

I know most of you will celebrate the event, but maybe you could avoid having a go at the fans with posts such as "LOL"... Merci :)

She got what she deserved for ditching the UK X Factor. Everyone predicted that she was going to flop big time. It's clear she only wanted the US job to try and further her own career and she failed! She tried way too hard to make an impression even by looking like Chewbacca.

It would be embarrassing for her if she came back to the UK X Factor. I hope the UK version have already found their new judges.

Yes I am backing Sophie to be a guest judge so she can finally laugh in her face.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Im glad she is being humiliated but I thought we were rid of the stupid bitch :(

Now she will probabaly come back to the UK panel and this series will end up being $h!t :(

Methinks the people who are saying this will kill her career are going just a little OTT. It will do nothing of the sort! There's potential she could look a bit of a fool yes, but depending on how our media report it she could be embraced back with open arms and loved more than ever.

Sophie who? Sophie E-B? Why what did she say??

What i hate most about Cheryl is the fact this whole sweet persona she puts on is so fake. I prefered her when she was feisty and wasnt afraid to punch people in the face.

Also, she cant sing

I can't help but think it was all planed from day one by Fox and Simon.

Cheryl was the "unknown" option that they could sack before the show starts with no fear of a backlash because the American audience hasn't seen her on TV yet, so they can't feel for her.

The accent? The lack of notoriety in the US? Bad excuses, then they wouldn't have picked her in the first place if that was a problem.

Everyone found it hard to believe Nicole accepted to be the "co-host" of the show. I mean, Dermott already looks useless on its own, so why would they need two people to host the show, especially with someone big like Nicole?

I guess the plan was to sack Cheryl just after the American Idol finale, so they get huge media coverage in the press, and they replace her with Nicole so she looks like the girl who saved the show.

I'm dreading all the "poor Cheryl" stuff to come now..

Can we have one year where the British public isn't forced into feeling sorry for Cheryl Cole?

Can we have one year where the British public isn't forced into feeling sorry for Cheryl Cole?

When something good happens to her, you say she doesn't deserve it, and when something bad happens to her, you still moan cause the public feel for her... She can't win with you...

No matter who it is, it's no fair to get rid of a person that way. It isn't fair for Dannii (and you know I'm not her biggest fan), and it's not fair for Cheryl either.

Yes! Bring on Sophie EB. I think Sophie would actually make a good judge.

With regards to singing though - she's (possibly worse) than Cheryl.

Kath

OH NO YOU DIDN'T.

Cant the UK line up be Eminem, Lily Allen, Britney Spears and Louis Walsh?

Sometimes risks don't always work out though?

That's the chance you take when taking major risks.. if it would have worked, she'd have long forgot about the UK.

Instead we're going to get her back, everyone will feel sorry for her, we'll have to endure another album & she'll get another £5 million to promote a bit of hair spray..

It's ridiculous.

I keep seeing 'Poor Cheryl Cole is jobless' - she has enough money to financially secure her for life, she's a millionaire!!

What about the people that struggle to get a £16-20k a year job?

And in other news.. I bet Ryan Giggs is happy about all this

JUSTICE FOR NADINE COYLE AT LAST! Somewhere in an Irish slum in America, she is rejoycing! I like to think she, Nicole and Dannii are responsible for the entire thing - epic evil geniuses that they are.

No but really, there is something amazinglly hilarious about this. Especially if she actually returns to UK X-Factor with her tail between her legs, the audacity of all it WOULD BE TOO MUCH.

I've said before hiring her was a crap choice would never made any sense whatsoever. Surley the same thing as someone like Jessica Mauboy being drafted in for our X-Factor? Clearly more US TV important people should listen to me.

But she hasn't really been given a chance. She did two auditions, in both LA and Chicago she had good reaction from the audience, Paula was tweeting all the time about how cool Cheryl was, and the US press so far was welcoming her nicely as well. I don't see where she failed. It's just Fox wanting to create some hype around their next show.
