Posted July 28, 200619 yr It was all over the back pages of the paper's today and Sir Alex has basically confirmed that United are on the verge of signing Carrick today. Quite a big loss for Spurs although i'm sure they'll cope, but its a good signing for Man Utd as Carrick will now add something to their midfield which United really needed to strenghten over the summer.
July 28, 200619 yr Didier Zokora is a more than adequate replacement for Judas II I hope Carrick does in his cruciates, his disloyalty to Spurs is nothing short of a disgrace, we rescued him from lower mid table oblivion in the Championship and turned him into an England regular and put faith in him when he was rotting in a lower division so to treat us with such contempt is a disgrace Close the door on your way out you traitor
July 28, 200619 yr Author Didier Zokora is a more than adequate replacement for Judas II He seemed a decent player in the world cup, but he might not adpat to English football, i've seenit with Liverpool too many times before; you get some absolute gems and then you get big flops, thats why i'd rather have Carrick than Zokora. The one thing I would have with Zokora is that a world cup can make any player look good, just look at Salif Diao for example.

He didn't do anything wrong at all! he didn't moan that he wanted to move it was just us making offers for him and a move to a club like Man U or anyone playing in the Champions League for that matter is too good to turn down for just about any player. You'll also made quite a big profit on him too as you signed him for only £2.75M (if this does go through)
July 28, 200619 yr Yeah true he is an unknown quantity somewhat but our DOF Damien Comolli was also his DOF when he was at St Etienne and bought Zokora from Belgium so Comolli has a lot of faith in the guy and knows his attitude and so on as he has bought him twice :) ok that does not necessarily mean he will adapt to the premiership but given how well Comolli knows him I am confident :)

You'll also made quite a big profit on him too as you signed him for only £2.75M (if this does go through) He should not bite the hand that feeds though, Ledley King has turned down all sorts of offers to join teams over recent years including Arsenal and Chelsea and the reason he said he did is that he feels he owes the club for everything they have done for him and the faith they have put in him, that is the type of loyalty I expect whereas we took on Carrick when he was rotting in another division and no one wanted him and we turned him into the player he is so he should show the same loyalty as Ledley King and signed a new contract
July 28, 200619 yr Is Zokora the Ivorian? If so then that is potentially a great signing for them. I'm glad Carrick is on the verge of signing and all but considering we only sold Van Nistelrooy for 10 million it seems slightly like a waste of money to me. But meh, if he can fill the void that Keane left then I'm not complaining.

July 28, 200619 yr Yeah thats the guy :) I have very high hopes for him B) Let's hope he doesn't turn out to be another Helda Postiga then  I had him in my fantasy football and everything <_<
July 28, 200619 yr Let's hope he doesn't turn out to be another Helda Postiga then  I had him in my fantasy football and everything <_< lol yeah   Nah I think he will do well tbh :) Postiga wasn't physically up to the Premiership whereas Zokora is built like a tank, reminds me of Patrick Vieira
July 28, 200619 yr lol yeah   Nah I think he will do well tbh :) Postiga wasn't physically up to the Premiership whereas Zokora is built like a tank, reminds me of Patrick Vieira Patrick Viera - who Man Utd failed to sign, so hence why they moved for Carrick. Carrick is OK but he is no Sissoko IMHO.
July 28, 200619 yr I agree with that thisispop. Sissoko, for me, was one of the best foreign recruits last year. Is he Franch? If so, he has the potential to be better than Vieira I think!

He's from Ghana I think. Lots of players get compared to Vieria like Diao for instance <_< , but Sissoko is a lot better player than Diao, though I don't think he'll play as many games for Liverpool this season as his did last season.
