May 16, 201213 yr STAY HOME. I'd probably miss anything for Eurovision. Although my family and close friends should know better than to schedule something like a wedding for the same day as Eurovision.
May 16, 201213 yr I would but I don't know how many more chances I'm gonna get with all of my friends together before we split up and head to different unis or whatever. :( Plus I am willingly going have been dragged into coming to an Abba tribute concert the following Saturday and this all may be TOO MUCH. (Yes ofc I'd prefer to watch Eurovision live but it may not happen :()
May 16, 201213 yr I was invited to a birthday meal on the night of the 2nd semi final last year. I went knowing that I'll be able to just watch it on an hour delay, so I was quite lucky there. I can remember how bad it was though to have to not watch it live, it is all I could think about at the meal! It was an enjoyable meal in the end though :kink: Edited May 16, 201213 yr by Ryan741
May 17, 201213 yr Horrendous dilemma. Luckily I always have some form of Eurovision related get together/party/plan on the night now, so I'd always have a justifiable excuse if anyone ever decided to get married on that night.
May 17, 201213 yr Ugh, I'm actually sickened at what's happened to esctoday.com. It almost feels like our community's been raped :( http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/553393_10150791768155950_12622425949_9994223_297884063_n.jpg Anti-gay hackers replaced the whole site with the above. Translation: "What will gays bring to Azerbaijan? What will happen in Azerbaijani families after gay pride? There is no place for immoral gays in Azerbaijan...leave our country...no place to stay in Azerbaijan for gays who look like animals. There is no place for the evil in this country...we paint blue to red blood."
May 17, 201213 yr :manson: Countries of Caucasus are extreme in their homophobic views so I'm not really surprised. It's disgusting though. And if you really want to do something, bring a f***ing rifle on a live show and kill everybody, not act like a f***ing piece of cowardly crap hiding behind computers. May 17, 201213 yr Author :manson: Countries of Caucasus are extreme in their homophobic views so I'm not really surprised. It's disgusting though. Don't give them any ideas Pavel...
May 17, 201213 yr I don't think they can speak/read English well enough to even understand what I wrote. Plus, they're probably just some dumb 16-year olds anyway.
May 17, 201213 yr It's an absolute disgrace that this has happened, and put frankly the EBU should look into the human rights records of countries before they are declared able to host such a huge event as the safety of so many people can and now has been put in great jeopardy. I cannot imagine how worried some journalists and visitors must feel right now and they still have a week and a half at least left in that country.
May 17, 201213 yr From reading ESC Today's Facebook page, it seems that all of the articles and absolutely everything they had on the site over the last 12 years is gone forever. It seems as though they had no backup, so they have lost absolutely everything! Awful :(
May 17, 201213 yr Serves them right for not having a backup tbh. Though apparently ESC websites are being targeted by radical Muslim groups. Which sucks.
May 17, 201213 yr "Radical Muslim groups" deciding to target EUROVISION of all things is actually hilare. They have got their priorities in order.
May 17, 201213 yr I sound like my IT teacher here but yeah, no back-up - it's their fault tbh. Well not really the ''''radical'''' Muslim group being bigoted twats and homophobes are to blame, but it wouldhelp to have back-up :P Speaking of something even MORE shocking... Rona Nishliu is actually 25! :o Bloody hell :o
May 17, 201213 yr Just noticed that BBC One are screening a Panorama programme 'Eurovision's Dirty Secret' next Monday about Azerbaijan... :manson: Eurovision's "Dirty Secret" though? Really?! Bliss have got a programme on previewing the contest though, and I also caught Mandinga's video on Dance Nation TV last night!
May 18, 201213 yr That's awful :( These people sound like such hateful idiots though, they probably are just a bunch of kids in a basement somewhere. From reading ESC Today's Facebook page, it seems that all of the articles and absolutely everything they had on the site over the last 12 years is gone forever. It seems as though they had no backup, so they have lost absolutely everything! Awful :( I read somewhere that there actually is backups but they'll take a while to get up. They said on their facebook page that esctoday will be coming back stronger than ever though. :) Anyone see this? Edited May 18, 201213 yr by Sabrewulf
May 18, 201213 yr Anyone see this? That is AMAZING. Dana International's inclusion was a nice touch.
May 18, 201213 yr Author Chart Show TV are screening Eurovision preview shows next week! 6xR2u2ciKuw Amazing! I have so much love for the likes of Chart Show/Scandipop/Dance Nation etc... for FINALLY giving the Eurovision entries some promo in the UK :D
