I always like to work this out, as it is easier to work out if it was a 'low scoring' year or not, with pre-2004 winners usually getting between 160-200 points. Anyway, this year would've been one of the lowest scoring winners ever during the current 1-8, 10 and 12 voting system.

As some of you will know, I'm all for bringing back a finalists only voting system, so we get the excitement of all the votes being announced again and the general tightness in the voting! May reconsider that slightly though after our shockingly low finish here! :lol:

I've got used to the new 1-7 then 8, 10, 12 system now anyway, watching back old Eurovisions it all seems incredibly slow. It does make it harder to follow now definitely, but admittedly, the new 'dynamic voting' has definitely shaken things up for the better - we couldn't have said for sure that it was Azerbaijan until the last 4 or 5 votes.

 

As an aside, considering how popular Blue were in Western Europe, it's interesting to note that two thirds of our points actually came from Eastern Europe, for all that people complain about them! Perhaps they were even more popular in the East, I have no idea :lol: Or perhaps the East just have better taste!

Moldova finishing 4th would've been great imo :D we need a bit of fun and novelty in this contest, its classic Eurovision, I remember laughing so much at some past entries (like that Ukrainian entry in 2007 :lol: ) and that doesn't seem to happen any more :( yes, we do need to take it seriously, but funny entries like Moldova lighten it up a bit imo
