After previously announcing the band's new album will be titled "Heritage," Opeth has now revealed more details on the upcoming release.

Opeth will release Heritage, the band's third album for Roadrunner, on September 20th. The first video and single will be the song “The Devil’s Orchard." Opeth frontman and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt weighed in on "Heritage," saying, "It will be our 10th album/observation. I dig it; we all do. In fact, it feels like I've been building up to write for and participate on an album like this since I was 19."

...

The album was produced by Åkerfeldt and mixed along with Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, who is also a labelmate of Opeth. Longtime collaborator Travis Smith also worked with Åkerfeldt to create, design and execute the album’s artwork.

Opeth will also embark on a seven-week, headline tour of the U.S. in support of the album. Dates will be announced shortly.

I don't know what it is about Opeth but I just can't seem to get into them

I find their songs quite bland in all honesty, are there any heavier songs of theirs I should try?

I've only listened to "Harvest" from Blackwater Park, I'd imagine you'd find that quite bland.

Let's see:

If these are heavy enough for you. ;)

Not strictly heavy but it's probably one of the easiest tracks to listen to.

Their music is not easy to get into, mainly because a lot of their tracks are pretty long!

I liked the first two songs :)

Length isn't an issue for me necessarily as one of my favourite songs (Burzum - Det Som En Gang Var) is nearing to 15 minutes long.
