Surely that would depend on whether they are released pre or post album?

I do agree with this. It seems the common factor that after the first two singles do oustanding, the rest will go nowhere unless you are Rihanna with huge selling power and popularity or Lady Gaga who has manipulated the chart with her songs being drummed down you.

So Rihanna has 'huge selling power' but Lady GaGa is 'manipulating the chart'. Right... Just because you don't like GaGa doesn't mean her success has to be fake.

i think its to do with the fact that they can make high priced videos and they are gaurateed to be played flat out on mtv which helps them go top40 with most or all of their singles.

anyway back to the question yes a 59p priced 3/4th single would get more exposure to those singles meaning more people would risk buying the album too!!

Unless, having already bought 4 singles from it, they they then think "what's the point of buying the remaining 'dregs'". :P

Im not a fan of Lady GaGa but atleast she actually writes her own songs. Look at Rihannas Albums. Not one song even co written.
