Posted May 30, 201114 yr Lady Gaga debuts at #1 in the Oricon Japanese Album Chart with sales of 184,000. She is the first western solo artist to hit #1 on the chart since Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' in 2009 and the first western female to do so since Madonna's 'Hard Candy' in 2008. http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/rankmusic/88250/full
May 30, 201114 yr 184,000 is unexpected. With the 7th day calculated and added together it was only around 146k. A ton of shops didn't report the daily numbers I guess. Good job though :)
May 30, 201114 yr Very nice :) I really like the idea of the Daily Chart, but it doesn't seem that accurate. I hope it can be knocked off by Girls' Generation's album this week :kink:
May 31, 201114 yr There's a race whether Girls' Generation will get it or AAA and another artist. Anyways the daily sales are accurate as they're reported by most shops. Some shops don't report daily sales and only report weekly hence the increase from the 7th day to weekly. However some are accusing the 184k to be inflated (even if Western music artists do receive a big increase due to end of week reported sales) as the jump is too high.
