September 26, 201113 yr Eric is adorable in that video as always but he can leave the 'gangster moves' at the (bedroom) door. 'Hearts In The Air' is a tad mediocre isn't it? :( It is. They should have just properly pushed Popular here, I doubt many people would recall the Eurovision connection at this point and it deserves more than the #76 smash that it was...
September 26, 201113 yr It is. They should have just properly pushed Popular here, I doubt many people would recall the Eurovision connection at this point and it deserves more than the #76 smash that it was... I agree. I was so frustrated to see it just miss out on a chart placing. It could've done a lot better than #76 had it been properly promoted - he probably would've gained enough exposure from being "the fit one from Eurovision" to make it chart. That ship has certainly sailed now however and I don't see him getting another song as UK-friendly as 'Popular' was.

There's certainly nothing on his current album that screams international hit, which is interesting considering the album was tailored specifically for the 'international market' Popular was the sole smash on that album. I know Hearts In The Air has been a hit in Sweden but no doubt that was mostly down to name alone, in the same way that JLS can sell 100k of ANYTHING in the UK first week...
September 26, 201113 yr Popular is and shall remain vile. However I quite like HITA and I'm glad it's getting a push here. Not that it will do anything.
September 26, 201113 yr Playing on Clubland TV as I type! Vaguely off topic but Json's new single Stop Me is actually really good, in a male rap verse/female pop chorus done to death sort of way... UanmWqpIvqE Hopefully Jonjo will see this topic. It's the sort of thing I can imagine him liking a lot and the PM function doesn't work at the moment

Shame it never really grew on you, I still think it's one of the songs of the year personally. The lyrics could certainly be less self indulgent but I can't fault it in any other way.
September 26, 201113 yr It is the lyrics and his smug face that kill it for me. I did chart it for a week just outside my top 40, just after Eurovision, the performance was quite impressive, even if I hoped that he would explode at the same time as the glass :kink:

Admittedly the performance was fun and standout but so were their X Factor performances in 2009. My opinion of them remains the same, they're horrendous! I'm afraid I couldn't even bring myself to chart that for one week...
September 27, 201113 yr Author Oh I was awaiting more new of the UK release, I expect it to chart at something like #156, but I'm glad they're trying.
October 6, 201113 yr Just bought 'Hearts In The Air' from our iTunes, had no idea they'd released it already! Edited October 6, 201113 yr by AdamAloud
October 30, 201113 yr Hearts In The Air is tracklisted on Clubland 20 (along with Ola's All Over The World) - Scanditastic!
December 17, 201113 yr Author The production on the original was perfect, much more euphoric than that generic club dance crap.
