September 6, 201113 yr I read in a 'paper' today (The Mirror) that Don't Stop Me Now was recently voted Queen's best lyric at Queenonline.com. Am I alone in thinking the lyrics on that are awful?? I've never thought they were much cop lyrically but always considered this among their worst along with Bicycle Race It's probably all the "Shaun of the Dead" fans voting....
October 22, 201113 yr I love Queen. Never had the chance to see them live with Freddie but they have a huge presence on my iPod and are great driving music. Was indifferent about Don't Stop Me Now, I would have voted for One Vision, I Want To Break Free or I'm In Love With My Car.
November 4, 201113 yr I watched it. I like "rock history" documentaries anyway, but it was absolutely fascinating. Also watched the 1975 Christmas Eve concert, which was brilliant. Brian May has become so well known over the years as "that bloke with the curly hair and clogs, married to Angie out of Eastenders", you forget what an awesome musician he actually is.
November 5, 201113 yr Author I remember watching the Christmas Eve concert when it was first on. Seeing it again made me feel really ancient.
April 9, 201213 yr Saw two Queen documentaries over Easter on the BBC iplayer, and they were excellent. Really gave a good history of the band, with interviews with all the band members, some of their ex-managers, and even with a member of Smile, the group they originated from. The documentaries, called "These Are The Days Of Our Lives", parts one and two, are still, I believe, on the iplayer, if anyone wants to see them.
