Netsky gave Danaelanda it's 4th DNQ in a row last night. On the bright side, it did better than Andreea Banica by scoring 39 points and finished 17th in the semi final. It could have finished 18th if Bang had remembered to vote. We gave many points to Greenfroze and the aforementioned Bang but they both missed out thanks to not picking up the phone and voting. Unfortunately right now is a dark time for dance music in BJSC with indie leading the way. Having said that, last contest's winner "Need U" by Unicorn Kid was a dance song, so that proves that dance can do well when it's good (or entered by Aeroche)

Boo, Love Has Gone was a great song! Jarkangel gave it 8 points if that's any consolation at all.

EDX becomes shock qualifier for Danaelanda

 

This song was looking likely to be our worst performing entry to date, with no predictions to go through and being bottom of the average odds. However, some drama *.* meant that we and Deandra went through in place of Tinnmark and Zechonia. The only DNQ we voted for was Mdice with Sky Fererria's Lost In My Bedroom. We were not expecting to go through to the final so we are very proud of ourselves, however we can only think what went wrong with last month's drum and bass, and the generic fempop of two months ago. Hopefully we impress in Rejects!

To celebrate a whole year participating in the Buzzjack Song Contest uninterrupted, the Danaelandan BJSC Commitee have released this 4CD compilation with the 80 best tracks of the contest as voted for by citizens of Danaelanda. This compilation will be listened to throughout December to get Danaelanda into the party and celebration part of the BJSC year. The contents of the CD are in no particular order so that other countries don't know what songs we'll be putting at the top of our list in the many best of contests that the BJSC has to offer. However if your entry isn't in this compilation don't expect high pointage from us.

 

Disc One begins with the UK #1 and Danaelanda #2 smash hit "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen to remind us of how influental the contest can be on the chart. Disc Four finishes with the follow up to Elena's 'Disco Romancing' titled 'Amar Tu Vida'. ATV was not sent by us but it has been put near the end because it was thanks to Elena's success in TBO Rejects that brought us back to the contest. And the final track is the beautiful Danaelandan entry "Touched" by EDX which finished 24th in the latest BJSC and so far has peaked at #12 in the weekly Danaelandan charts, but on the next chart it should enter the top 10.

I think Danaelanda could become one of 2013's most successful countries in BJSC. 'Touched' is a great dance track and I actually prefer the 6 minute version because it builds up so much better. :dance: If this is a taste of things to come then... :D

I'm really surprised you like 'The Wheel' considering you said you can never get into my 'indie' entries and that's like my most 'indie' entry of the entire year :lol: Pleased to make it onto here 3 times though!

Thanks ;) I do love the club mix a lot more than the radio edit. I only made the edit incase people were put off my entry because of it's length :P

 

Entering Touched was a great risk for me because it was a diversion from generic fempop, but as it was the 50th contest I wanted to enter something that I really loved - I couldn't believe that I went through with it yet flopped with more BJSC friendly songs like 'Could U', 'Take Control' and 'Burning'.

 

I'm personally looking forward to December's festivities. If 'Could U', 'Love Has Gone' or 'Carry Me To Paradise' do well in TBO Rejects that would be my dream because those are my 3 favourite flops which really didn't deserve to flop - especially CMTP as it was SO CLOSE to qualifying.

For me it sounds like a mixture between indie and dance, which is maybe why I connected to it instead of playing it and forgetting about it 2 minutes later.

 

I just realised I forgot to put New York in this compilation. Obviously I didn't hear that song until Radio 1 playlisted it but however it is a BJSC song. (and your entry obviously)

Yes I do love electronic dance music (:wub:) and Ailee's song is very danceable (the non-ballad part of course, but I do love the intro too!) Daehun has really got better as a country, ever since PSY's Gangnam Style I've taken more of a liking to Korean language entries in BJSC - PONPONPON especially is a very fun song!

PONPONPON is Japanese :kink:. I suppose I can understand why you enjoy it though as it's very electronic based.

Danaelanda Get Into TBO Rejects

 

Two of our undeserved flops have made it through to the next round of TBO Rejects. Radio Killer's "Don't Let The Music End" and Airsoul's "Asia" originally flopped but now they have been given a second chance. "Damaged", "Could U" and "Carry Me To Paradise" were very close to making the cut too, whereas "Take Control", "Burning" and "Love Has Gone" were the worst performers.

Danaelanda Finish 2012 With Radio Killer

 

One of our eight flops managed to qualify into the final of BJSC: TBO The Rejects, a contest that decides what songs should've been in the finals of their respective contests. Radio Killer represented us with "Don't Let The Music End", they finished 21st. On the bright side at least that isn't bottom 7. The winner was Angel Haze with her song "New York". We contributed to her win by giving 3 points.

 

Danaelanda Enter BJSC 51

 

We have decided that Hardwell will be representing us in this contest with his song "Apollo" featuring the vocals of Amba Shepherd. The song recently peaked at #2 in the official Danaelandan chart. Listen to the song below.

Hardwell and Amba Shepherd have gone against the odds and predictions, qualifying in the 51st edition of BJSC. Disqualifiers in my semi that we voted for were "Daydream", "Huuda!", "Somebody Loves You" and "Trendy Discotheque". The latter is at #5 in this week's national chart. In the opposite semi, "Adorn" and "Boy Is A Bottom" disqualified. Both those songs are in the national top 50.

Danaelanda Finish 26th!

 

Hardwell and Amba Shepherd give Danaelanda their 4th finish in the final. It is our lowest position in the final to date but that is better than yet another DNQ.

 

International Chart Success!

 

Hardwell performed well on the Persephonian national chart, peaking at #21 with "Apollo". The country gave us 10 points for this entry.

 

Aeroche win for the fourth time

Danaelanda Finally Have a Place They Can Call Home!

 

For many years citizens of Danaelanda have been living in unowned land alongside the Daehunese and the Persephonian, but today Danaelanda officially has become a recognized owned piece of land, and anyone without a Danaelandan passport has been kindly kicked out of the country. Daehun has reported a 2,000 people increase in population but some Daehunese who are unhappy with their country have moved to Bignia-Zaragovnia who are reportedly "more than happy to accept Daehunese into their country" and have given them council flats and jobs.

 

97% of Danaelandan citizens that have been living in other unused pieces of land have accepted free plane tickets to the country of Danaelanda. The other 3% have migrated to Ramrynia and Mezidinia. A smaller percentage tried Altyr Muunlinst but found the place "very unsatisfactory" and swam to Danaelanda.
