DANAELANDAN NEWS REPORT

 

Results Commentary

 

Caerfyrddia get their debut win with the brilliant "Bring It Back" by Marcel Woods and Vanbot. In second place is Aeroche, who got 10 Danaelandan points with their entry "Cold Nights". Mdice complete the top 3. In fourth place is a song Danaelandans have been raving about ever since Batidas leaked their entry to us, it is "Zombies In Love" by Manufactured Superstars which got our +12 and did much better in the final than we expected. Well done Batidas for a fab entry. Espen, who got our 8 points, finish in fifth - meaning 4 of our top 5 finished in the actual top 5. It looks like us Danaelandans have good taste!

 

Debuting country Jayruselum finish in ninth with Sharon Doorson's "Killer". It is not the first time Doorson has finished in the top 10, having previously represented Hendinia. It got 1 point from us. The irrelevant Umiiruka somehow finish at #10. We don't know how this happened.

 

Aquafina, who were tipped to win with Lune's "Leave The World Behind", a cover of the Swedish House Mafia song of the same name, flop at #16. Isonia, who got 7 points from us, finish at #18 with "She Burns" by Joe Goddard, far too low for such a good song. Kato finishes the top 20 (at #20) with the beautiful ballad "Warrior".

 

Host country Skall is at #21, having gone on the cheap and entering Tinchy Stryder who got a UK Top 10 hit as recently as 2 weeks ago! Some successful countries have major flops, these include Daehun, N DNTN, Fljotavik and Hendinia.

 

Kluminican Republic finish 2nd last with the brilliant "On & On" which got a few Danaelandan points, and unsurprisingly in last place is Scruvovnia with "Radio Silence" by Meow, which almost scored points from us.

Feel The Love

 

No, not the Rudimental song - but this entry comes from Cahill, most famous for their UK top 40 hit "Trippin' On You" and remixing loads of pop hits. The vocals come from Kimberley Locke who finished 3rd in American Idol many years ago.

 

We are hoping that we can recover from last contest when we got our worst result to date with Stone & Van Linden's "Summerbreeze".

DANAELANDAN NEWS REPORT

 

Results Commentary

 

The biggest news of the day, is, of course, the final position of Danaelandan entry "Feel the Love" by Cahill and Kimberley Locke. The song finishes in 15th to become the 2nd highest charting entry, behind "Insane" which finished 12th. It also becomes the 3rd highest scoring entry, with 80 points, behind Shining Heart's 81 points and Insane's 107 points. Despite Shining Heart scoring one more point than Feel the Love did, it only finished in 18th.

 

In other news Trifoski have their debut win with their entry "So High" sung by Ghost Loft to the surprise of many viewers. N DNTN and Hendinia, widely predicted to finish in the top 2, finish 2nd and 3rd respectively whilst veteran countries Kylienips and Mdice complete the top 5.

 

New personal bests are achieved by Terra Avium (9th) and Cadelica (12th). It is the first time that Cadelica have qualified and they do it in style, finishing 12th with "After Dark" which was a Danaelandan top 10 hit a few months ago but was not considered for the contest at the time. We have no hard feelings though and wish the country the best of luck for the future.

 

D'yermak'er finish 19th to the surprise of bookmakers all over the Buzzjack world, who collectively had decided the country would finish 3rd with "2025".

 

It was discovered into the contest that Ramrynia had considered entering our entry "Feel the Love" into the contest a few months ago. They now wish they had sent it as their entry "Forget You" finishes at 22nd, 7 places below where we finished.

 

Our 12 pointer, Alive by Namie Amuro, sadly finishes at the low position of 24th. However it is not the lowest asian song - that goes to Botanikka's entry Falling In Love by 2NE1, which finishes last out of 31 entries.

Can You Hear the Siren Call?

 

This month's Danaelandan entry comes from none other than Kat Krazy, a DJ who we have been championing a lot this year. Most famous for his remix of Bastille's 'Pompeii' but he has also remixed their flop single 'Laura Palmer'. Sandenian readers will be pleased to hear that Naughty Boy's new single featuring Queen Emeli herself has been given the Kat Krazy remix treatment too.

 

Kat Krazy previously collaborated with Susie Ledge, most famous for singing on Danaelanda's first entry 'Falling', on his song 'See the Sun (Big Time)' which was a Danaelandan top 40 hit. However 'Siren' has already outperformed it, so far peaking at #6 in the Danaelandan charts.

 

The song features elkka (yes, she annoyingly does not start her name with a capital E) which has not done anything of note before 'Siren' but we feel that she is a great vocalist.

Cahill In UK Hit Compilation

 

A newly released compilation titled Summer Beats 2013 may just look like a list of big chart hits at first glance, with Blurred Lines, Love Me Again, Waiting All Night and I Love It at the top of the tracklisting - but if you look further down you will see Danaelanda's last entry "Feel the Love" by Cahill & Kimberley Locke. The Danaelandan president is reported to be delighted at the inclusion of this and has said in his report that Danaelanda will continue to send the goods and hopefully people will take notice and who knows, maybe one of these days a song could be a big UK hit off the back of being an entry. Ramrynia seem to be the masters of turning their entries into chart gold, with I Love It still in the UK top 10.

Former Danaelandan Entry Gets 2013 Remake

 

Canadian singer Christina Walls represented Danaelanda in April 2012, it was our 5th entry in the contest. Unfortunately it flopped, finishing 15th in its semi with 56 points. However it peaked at #2 in the official Danaelandan charts. The song has been given a remix and a music video recently - so if you are one of the few who remembered and enjoyed this lovely entry of ours, give it a watch!

Get Your Love and Run

 

Danaelanda have decided to send in one of the biggest and the best DJs of all time to celebrate 20 contests. The artist in question is Tiesto, who needs no introduction. He has teamed up with three lesser-known DJs Mark Alston, Baggi Begovic and Jason Taylor - plus some vocals from Teddy Geiger to produce Love and Run.

 

The song sits at #1 in Danaelanda's official charts with high airplay, sales and streaming - the first entry of ours to do so since EDX represented us last year, so we would be really disappointed if this were to flop.

Fact of the Day: This is the first contest since BJSC LIV (5 contests ago) that the roman numerals of the number of the contest sound like a word of the English language. Get ready for Buzzjack Song Contest Licks everyone! We will have to wait for contest #100 for the next one of these (BJSC C)

HYPE FOR DANAELANDAN ENTRY #21!

Arty and Jenson Vaughan Represent Danaelanda In BJSC LIX

 

Russian DJ Arty represents Danaelanda in its 21st contest with new song "It's All Relative". Well I say new but actually his part of the song is not. The song was originally released in 2011 as an instrumental called "Kate". But it has been given the vocal treatment by Canadian singer-songwriter Jenson Vaughan. He was the songwriter of Madonna's #73 UK smash hit "Girl Gone Wild". He has also written for Kelly Rowland amongst other artists.

 

It is not Arty's first time in BJSC. He represented Ingermanlandia in August of last year with "Must Be The Love" featuring Nadia Ali and BT. Unfortunately the song finished in last (30th) in the final. We hope that "It's All Relative" can outperform that. Give it a listen, and remember to vote for it.

 

Danaelanda finish 24th

 

The latest entry from Danaelanda, "It's All Relative" by Russian DJ Arty and Canadian singer-songwriter Jenson Vaughan has finished in 24th place out of 32, with a total of 63 points in the Ramrynia-hosted contest, won by Trifoski. It is the 2nd time we have finished in 24th, the first being in the last contest of 2012 when EDX brought "Touched" to 24th.
