February 9, 201411 yr Author 24th Entry Sent The Danaelandan International Song Contest Committee (DISCC) have sent their song choice to Persephonia where it will undergo inspection. However we are 99% certain that our entry will not suffer from the veto. Under legal obligation we are not allowed to reveal our song choice but we believe that the song we are entering will be another Top 20 finisher for us. And if it's not then Buzzjack has poor taste in music. The DISCC are also discussing what our 25th entry will be. As it is a milestone entry, we will be planning to send a big name artist but hopefully without suffering the consequence of the veto. However in the past we have sent Tiesto, Steve Aoki and Arty successfully. You could even argue that 4 Strings is a big name, what with them having gone in the UK Top 40 over 10 years ago with 'Take Me Away'.
February 16, 201411 yr Author Mar becomes 24th Danaelandan representative of the BJSC Introducing Mar… the producer, writer and vocalist from Amsterdam who will be our entrant for the current BJSC, which is dually hosted by Daehun and Persephonia. The song 'Man x Woman' is taken from his EP 'Form' and was produced by himself and Full Crate. The song is described as 'electronic R&B', which is a first for Danaelanda. In the past we have sent dance-pop, progressive and electro-house, trance, and even on one occasion - drum n' bass! But our entry is different to everything else we have entered, which we hope will work in our favour. Danaelandan BJSC supporters have noted that in the second contest of last year we scored our personal best, with Flume and Moon Holiday's 'Insane' - and are hoping that this being the second contest of this year will bring good luck to the nation. We have already booked promotional visits to Aeroche, Ethanola and Persephonia amongst many other nations where Mar will be performing his song on high-profile TV shows. But the most high-profile of them all, will obviously be first semi final, hosted live in Persephonia on 23 February, but transmitted to all participating BJSC countries on major TV networks. It is not the worst we have done, that goes to Stone & Van Linden's Summerbreeze which only scored 26. Other songs to have done worse than Mar were Antillas' Damaged (28 points) and Andreea Banica's Could U (29 points). Predictably we get high points from Ethanola, who gave us 12. Our score was also massively helped by Persephonia (6 points) and Mdice (5 points). Florina, Kylienips and N DNTN also voted for the entry. The DISCC* are currently in talks of what to send to Danaelanda's 25th contest and so far have confirmed that we won't be going in the electronic RnB direction. April 13, 201411 yr Lol while perusing the BJSC62 stats again I totally just discovered an error that I somehow overlooked regarding your entry (it really is impossible to not let any errors slip through :() I forgot to break the tie between you and Florina in the semi which went down to most 7s, so Florina should in fact have been 25th in semi 1 with you 26th and not the other way around. April 15, 201411 yr Author The Result Oliver Heldens finishes 26th Our latest entry 'Gecko' by Oliver Heldens is one of the most successful Danaelandan entries in the official chart, where it has gone platinum and peaked at #5. It didn't do as well in the contest however, where it finished 26th. By doing so it becomes our 11th entry to have qualified and our 2nd entry to have finished at #26. It is also our 8th most successful entry of all time, as it scored 62 points to get to its position. This may seem like a flop, but compared to last month's entry, which was the 4th worst performing entry in Danaelandan history, it is a success. Our most successful entry of the year to date remains in its position, as 4 Strings finished 13th with 93 points earlier this year. In the semi final, 'Gecko' also scored 62 points and it came 14th, out of 27 entries, 15 of which were qualifiers. Danaelanda celebrate great music in the top 10 In a turn of events, the entire top 5 got points by Danaelanda, with the exception of 'Wonky', which came 15th in our rankings. The winner, RuPaul representing Eledan with 'Sissy That Walk' got 10 points from us and currently sits in our official top 50 at #21. Also getting points from us in the top 10 are Oslol and Farc, who finished 9th and 10th respectively. There are two versions of the song, I recommend the full version if you're into long dance songs complete with intro and outro - otherwise listen to the radio edit. May 8, 201411 yr Author Laurel qualifies by default After many days passed having awaited the news as to whether we qualified or not, it was decided that two of the 'Big 4', Federal Republic of Ashton and Bignia-Zaragovnia, are to take over the hosting rights of the contest after the BJSC Vulkyria and Eledan HQ was bombed by Aquafinan extremists, and it was discovered that the votes that the countries had sent for the semi-finals were saved onto computers in the Vulkyrian building, which were destroyed as a result of the bombing. No back-up was found, and it was decided that to keep running the contest in Vulkyria and Eledan would be inappropriate given their poor security measures. Therefore, a One Big Final format or re-doing the semis in a moderator country were the only two options for the International BJSC Committee. Fortunately the former was decided, which means we have autoqualified. For the purposes of defining successes and flops, it has been decided that 'Fire Breather' will be considered a flop if it finishes in 33rd or lower.
