Laurel finishes at #12

 

In a surprising turn of events, Laurel autoqualified for the final. But it looks as if she would have made it through anyway, as the song gives us another Top 15 finish, and goes to #12 with 155 points to give us our highest points total to date. However, that was under the One Big Final format. She would have only got 74 points if the normal points system was used. Either way she would have finished 12th. Anyway, this makes 'Fire Breather' our second best performing song to date, behind Flume's 'Insane' which also finished 12th but scored more points under the 12-point system.

 

BJSC returns to FSR Rontvia

 

FSR Rontvia predictably won the contest with 'RAMelia (Tribute To Amelia)', which got thirteen points from us and is currently sitting at number eight in the official Danaelandan chart. This is the eighth win for the country. Our allies Yehesi and Ethanola also scored big points from us, and they finished at #11 and #19 respectively. Neither country has ever had a top 10 finish. Nor have we (#nontop10alliance) The full televoting results will be revealed in The Opinion.

Danaelanda send deep house smash

 

It has been decided that the 27th offering from Danaelanda into the Buzzjack Song Contest will be 'Love Too Deep' by Dutch deep house producers Ferreck Dawn & Redondo. The song is a major chart hit in Danaelanda, with four weeks at number one. It has also hit number one in alliance country Ethanola and made small impacts in Aeroche and Fljotavik. We'll need more than those to qualify though, so take a listen to the club edit version of the song and remember to vote for it!

Love Too Deep qualifies for Danaelanda

 

Ferreck Dawn & Redondo become lucky enough to be the 13th qualifier for Danaelanda (this includes 'Fire Breather', which autoqualified, but finished high enough to be considered a qualifier by the DISCC). It is our 3rd "Q" in a row and the country are very excited for this success. You can listen to the song here, and remember to vote for it in the final. ^_^

Ferreck Dawn & Redondo add to the top 15 tally

 

'Love Too Deep' finishes in 15th, which makes it the 6th entry to finish in the top 15, following, in order from most to least recent, 'Fire Breather', 'This Heart Is Yours', 'Siren', 'Feel The Love', and 'Insane'. This makes for an interesting statistic, as Danaelanda have never finished top 10. Also, it continues the trend of Danaelandan entries with 'Love' in the song title to either DNQ or finish 15th.

 

The song becomes the fifth most successful entry into the BJSC, and the 6th if you count the spin-off contest where we finished 13th.

 

In the semi final, our entry comfortably qualified, scoring 74 points and finishing 10th. Oddly enough, this was higher than the eventual winner, 'Tear the House Up', which finished 12th in the semi.

Third Party for Buzzjackfestivalen 2014

 

It has been decided that Third Party will represent us in our first Buzzjackfestivalen. The song, which in its video edit is three and a half minutes long, has been edited for the purposes of this contest. The song is currently at #11 in the Danaelandan official chart, and is expected to make a climb next week. Listen and enjoy. (and vote too)

Funny you should say that as I specifically thought 'Seve' was one of the most accessible dance/instrumental entries in Semi 1. I would have thought it has a very good chance of qualifying but then I don't see the fuss with a lot of the ones predicted to qualify so my judgement probably doesn't count for much (especially when my last entry came dead last in the Danaelandan vote :lol:)!

Out of the dance entries I'd say Beautiful, Prom Night, Hurricane, Shatter Me and Bullit are the most cross-appealing. Mine just sounds like bottom 7 in the final/DNQ compared to the rest of the semi but I'd love to be proven wrong.

 

Unfortunately your entry last contest was too forgettable and inoffensive (I couldn't hum it without having to hear it again) so suffered in my votes, there were no songs that I hated with a passion.
