Posted June 9, 201114 yr I heard this morning on Capital FM that X Factor judges Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh have said that X Factor contestants will not be allowed to sing any Adele tracks on this years X Factor. This is most likely due to Make You Feel My Love being performed all the time on reality TV, and Someone Like You would probably get hammered this year too. Do you agree with this? Personally, I don't. There are other Adele tracks apart from MYFML, so I don't see why ALL songs cannot be performed. And it's only the auditions and boot-camp where the contestants can acutally choose their songs to perform, so if the judges don't want them being sung, then don't give them an Adele song throughout the live shows. And what will happen if one of the contestants collaborate with Adele in the final? What else will they be able to perform?
June 9, 201114 yr Author Just realised this topic is already in the UK Chart Forum...  I bet Gary is just jealous because Kidz and Love Love flopped and Adele is top of the charts!
June 9, 201114 yr I think it's ridiculous. There are so many good Adele songs out there, i think they should be allowed to sing them :cheer:
June 17, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure this was just a misquote. I read that they were FED UP of hearing Adele songs and were discouraging contestants from singing them. That's quite different.
