Only her and Cee Lo Green I have respect for in the charts, every song they've brung out has been amazing.

Daddy was a great song but a bad single. I don't think it flopping makes a big difference in the longrun. It was more of a filler single in between Heaven and the lead single IMO. The hype is still there, the album sales will come.

Just bought the album on the weekend and it's amazing!!!!!!!! My favourites are Suitcase, mountain, Heaven, next to me, clown, daddy and read all about it (I know it's a lot lol).
She will join a long list of UK artists that will never get alot of fame or success because they do not get enough promotion on radio or television. Her voice is sublime and beautiful but she needs to take her talent to the US.The British market is too willing to accomadate US acts these days at the expense of UK talent.

This comment is amusing to reflect on now that she has three Top 3 hits to her name (one of them was a feature, yes, but still) and one of the year's best-selling albums.

I LOVE Emeli so much right now. It took me quite a while to get into her because I was never particularly fussed with 'Heaven' and 'Daddy', but 'Next To Me' got me listening to her album and each and every track is beautiful. Some are a little on the dull side granted, but the lyrical content is very good imo. 'My Kind of Love' is SUPERB too.

Yeah I struggle to see where they are coming from too. She has one of the biggest selling albums of the year, Next To Me support from TV/Radio was huge! The last two #1s have been british artists (Tulisa last week and Rita this week is a dead cert). Then the album chart is full of successful British albums..

Think its safe to say Britain love Emeli.
