O, I haven' t heard him singing opera; he was never an opera singer. :blink:

He has released two albums until now! :dance:

 

The first one is already certified double platinum, it was a classical crossover mixed with pop songs album.

 

The second album is a classical one, but there is no operas on it; the album has been nominated for the best classical album of the year. Very high quality , Rhydian sings the duets with the royalties of the classical music Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Bryn Terfel on it; the album went straight to the golden certificate, which is for the classical album rather rare. :thumbup:

 

Let us wait and see; until now the third album Waves have got some excellent inputs from many of the music critics who have heard it.

Yes, I know from the listening to the small part of the song one can not objectively say if it's good or not; so, let us just wait and see! :)

I meant classical crossover, he was in the popera style on X-Factor.

I am in love with his voice since than!

But he sang also few rock songs there and he was as excellent in The Phantom of the Opera as he was with Somebody to Love, Go West, Get this Party Started, am I right?

Atm my fave artists are Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Adele :) I'm also partial to a bit of country (Carrie Underwood is my joint fave singer ever with Gaga). With that in mind, it's not surprising I don't like classical crossover :lol: So what else do you like besides Rhydian? :P

Lady GaGa is a bit, regarding her appearance, below my taste, lol, but she is a good songwriter, I suppose. :wacko:

 

But I am most of the time go for the good vocalists and original songwriters, love also jazz, but only when listening alone to it in the sanctuary of my bedroom. ;)

Like Queen, love U2, sometimes on the dance floor Latin rhythm, lol. :dance:

And as you've seen I am fanatic Rhydian's fan - because of his voice, his passionate performances, his versatility and the guy is just a great human being, love his camp side too! B)

 

I wish you would at least try to like him just a bit!

He so much deserves to be heard by the main stream market.

Waves, that's the name of the third album, has got a collection of very interesting pop and rock songs.

I did hear the first single in full, which will be released in mid of July and I do like it. Great song, great melody, palpable rhythm, rock ballad with his magnificent voice! :w00t:

This Autumn will see Rhydian Roberts present his very own series for S4C.

 

Joining him will be a star line-up of guests along with a showcase of exciting up and coming Welsh talent. Over a period of eight weeks, Rhydian will perform a number of his old favourites but also introduce us to his latest repertoire from his new album.

 

The new light entertainment series will be staged on a bespoke ‘Vegas-like’ set where Rhydian and his guests will provide us with a star-studded evening of performance.

 

From pop to classical arias, from street dancing to contemporary gymnastics, this truly promises to be a spectacular series for all!

 

How I wish to see it! :unsure:

"And lastly, and certainly not least, is the news that Rhydian has recorded a version of the band’s ‘Tower Of Strength’ for his next album ‘Waves’ which is being released in the UK on August 1st.

Rhydian, who originally came to fame in the UK via the tv show ‘X-Factor’, sold over 1 million copies of his last album.

Upon hearing the track Wayne Hussey said, ‘For once I am speechless. I have no idea who Rhydian is as I live in Brazil and have done for almost 10 years now and whilst I listen to the Mark Radcliffe show on BBC Radio 6 via the internet I have never heard him play Rhydian. But that means bugger all. Radcliffe can be as obscure as I currently am. I’m flattered that Rhydian recognises ‘Tower Of Strength’ for being the great song I've always felt it was to the extent of covering it for his next album. Having never heard his sonorous voice before I can truthfully say I am gobsmacked and feel that his version captures the true essence of the song which to me has always been celebratory and joyous, and not the pompous goth dirge that many perceive the Mission and ‘Tower Of Strength’ to be. Kudos to the man and I look forward to shaking his hand and thanking him for the publishing check!’

And there is now speculation that Rhydian could make a surprise appearance with the band at their Brixton show in October. More on that as and when we hear."

I am happy for him, as far as I remember he's got massive army of the fans, hopefully they will help him to reach his true potential.

One of my girlfriends yesterday saw Rhydian performing. O, dear, she has fallen in love with the dude, ha, ha. :lol: :wacko:

I wonder if Rhydian gets any Radio 2 exposure with his first single; I don't even know the rules or what is the selection process for the songs which would be getting on their playlist. :wacko:

For Rhydian is of the enormous importance getting a decent airplay on the national and local radio stations.
