Had the Belarus and Iceland match on in the background and with it being a pretty boring half I turned off at half time.. to find out that a player had been sent off and Belarus had a penalty in the second :o
Looking at the other teams makes England look pretty pathethic with the whole "Wilshere is too tired to go". 4 of the Switzerland U21 team played in the match vs. England, Spain have two world cup winners amongst them etc..

The second half of Belarus v Iceland was an improvement but still fairly poor. It was a clear penalty and, therefore, had to be a red card.
Wenger spat his dummy out with Wilshere. I honestky believe Wenger forced his hand on that one. Spain and England have the best two teams on paper. Spain will probably win.

England team: Fielding, Walker, Bertrand, Smalling, Jones, Mancienne, Henderson, Cleverley, Rose, Welbeck, Sturridge

Subs: McCarthy, Steele, Muamba, Albrighton, Sinclair, Tomkins, Cork, Lansbury, Rodwell, Delfouneso, Wickham

Spain team: De Gea, Montoya, Botia, Dominguez, Didac, Thiago, Javi Martinez, Ander, Mata, Adrian, Jeffren

Subs: Mino, Marino, Azpilicueta, San Jose, Parejo, Bojan, Capel, Nsue, Angel, Ruiz, Perez, Munian

Pretty awful from England.

All his physique nonsense is just an excuse. The tactics just aren't right. Since when was Maninnce (sp?) a midfielder? He was terrible. Welbeck is bloody awful as well. I know he scored but he's really got a lot to work on. Seems that England enjoy playing hoofball.

After the first goal.. I really did think the scoreline could turn out to be pretty embarrassing, so I'm surprised that it ended up as a draw in the end. Good result though

The final will probably end up being Spain vs. England..a bit like in 2009 when Germany and England drew 1 - 1 during the group stages and Germany then ended up winning 4 - 1 during the final

I wasn't that impressed with Welbeck either. I'd be tempted to try out Wickham against Ukraine

But.. I was on the other hand impressed with Kyle Walker

Another draw vs. Ukraine

Very solid defensively, but lacking elsewhere. They won't get anywhere with the amount of long balls being played in the first half

Slightly disappointing draw, after the first five minutes I thought it was only a matter of time until we scored. Agree about Mancienne, we have the makings of a really good team there but it's not quite materialised. Promising for the Olympic tournament next year though, provided managers don't throw Wenger-style hissy fits.

Stuart Pearce is tactically inept.

There are some brilliant players coming through, but the team is not played to its potential. God help England is Welbeck is leading the line in the future...

At 0-0 in the 60th minute I bet a total of £35 on England to win, England to win 1-0 and England to score 1st. All looked to be going so well....
Like Capello a year ago I don't understand Pearce's team selections. I don't get why Rose and Muamba are in the squad let alone play such a part. Sinclair is MASSIVELY overrated, I think he'll be a massive failure in the PL next season, Lansbury and Albrighton are better than Cleverly.

LOL what a fail

Czech Republic vs. Switzerland

Spain vs. Belarus

Spain vs. Switzerland final with Spain winning !

With England not making it, the two losing semfinalists will have to play a playoff game to qualify a third team to the Olympics.

He's clueless. England will never win anything unless they change their footballing philosophy.

Spain 3:1 Belarus

Switzerland 1:0 Czech Republic

Spain and Switzerland in the final AND in the Olympics. Belarus and Czech Republic will play a play-off game to get the thrid Olympic spot.

So Spain are the deserved winners. No surprises there

The Spanish domination won't be ending anytime soon then

You can really see a difference in mentality though. The English media/public were only really interested in Wilshere being "burned out"

Whereas, the Spanish were pretty much only interested in winning and sending their best players

Spain, Switzerland and Belarus join Brazil, Uruguay and Team GB as the teams qualified up to now to the 2012 Olympics football tournament.
