This is such a huge improvement on Motivation it it just amazing. Kelly looks INCREDIBLE and she works the camera perfectly. Amazing video for an amazing song.

This is doing terribly on radio. I really hope it somehow picks up because it deserves to smash! I don't think the video even got it top 100 on iTunes.
The video was released far too late..the whole song was, it should have been pushed when the album was released.
This is now lined up as the third UK single, with a release date of February 6, 2012... The UK campaign is messed up already, and we've not had a single yet!

In the US, you've released "Motivation" and "Lay It On Me" – which are more urban-sounding songs – but your UK lead single is much more dance-orientated. Do you feel that there's a big difference between your UK and US fans?

Kelly Rowland: Well, I have released many dance songs over here. From having the remix to "Work It", to doing "When Love Takes Over" on a whim, it worked. We're just following suit. "Lay It On Me" will definitely come out and be a single over here. I think that's what's so great about music now and that's what's so great about artists, period! Like, look at Chris Brown for example, he'll have "Look at Me Now", but then he'll also have "Beautiful People". I think as artists, we're able to just not have limits and not allow anyone to put limits on us, and that's what I did on this record.

^ That's interesting. I mean, it's what I always assumed, but it's good to hear for certain.

It pisses me off though. I mean, Look At Me Now or Motivation would've been great in the charts. We've got like another 100 songs sounding like Beautiful People and Down For Whatever, so I don't know why we needed those aswell. :( Look At Me Now, Motivation, etc. would've been so unique if they were released this year, and really stood out from everything else.

Not to mention, since all the American RnB songs are releasing euro-pop songs here at the moment, it doesn't really give the European artists, who actually have a passion for that genre, much of a chance at having a hit here. The urban superstars (Snoop Dogg, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, etc.) will always get more attention than Inna and Cascada or whatever if they're releasing basically the same music.

And, to be honest, Motivation may not've been very big here, but Lay It On Me would've been huge. I'm glad they're releasing it anyway (it's down to be released in February, but will probably get popular earlier than that if lots of people cherry-pick it), but given how big songs such as Right There have been here this year, I think they could've confidently led the era with Lay It On Me persoanally.

Rant over. We've discussed this once before on here, but at least it's good that she's confirmed that now, rather than leaving us confused over the reasons for their single choices.

Lay It On Me is currently 63 on i-tunes chart great result for a song that has had no promo, airplay etc!

This has been added to Radio 1's C-List; a month before the planned impact date! :D Here's hoping it's another top 10 hit from the album, and will boost the album's sales too :D
My friends love this track, it has been doing well on i-tunes since the album was released!
I like the song but its a bit of a cheap Knock off of Nicole Scherzingers Right There.
I think have her album priced at 4.99 on itunes will stop people buying the single and just download the whole album, which is a plus for her,
Just seen this video on VIVA, quite similar to Down For Whatever I think :)
Been added to the b list on radio 1!
peaked on itunes today at number 60!
Now peakes at 56 the need to now send the music video to the channels!!
