Hmm. I've given them all a quick listen through.

 

Sixth Sense has a wonderful instrumental, and a great feel to it. The only thing that lets it down, is some rather weak vocals. It could work, but I'm unsure.

 

Out of the two T-ara songs, including the remix of Roly Poly as well, I think I prefer the older one, I Go Crazy Because Of You. That is rather good. Roly Poly has never really grabbed me.

 

Miss-A were ok, but it could do well. If I had to choose one, it's the least K-Pop of these songs, (with the exception of Sixth Sense, which is different altogether). It does feel a lot more traditional pop, but a bit generic. Hard to call, really.

 

Secret is very attention grabbing, but I'm not sure how well it could do. It's catchy, I won't deny that, and having Madonna as the title will help rather than hinder it.

 

Not sure, but I think you should go for one of Sixth Sense, Madonna or I Go Crazy.. . I'm not sure if they could have success. K-Pop is incredibly difficult to call, whatever it is. Or you could just go for your favourite. I know it's hard picking that, I have huge trouble with that with my entries, but if you have a favourite, go for it.

Sixth Sense:

Personally, I really like it because it's very different and quite dramatic! Definitely shows another side of K-Pop, a different one than IU and HyunA. But I don't think it would do well.

 

Roly Poly (Copacabana):

I'm not keen on this version tbh, the original is better.

 

Roly Poly:

Heard this already! It's very 'generic' but that's good in BJSC! I think it may grab people but also turn people away for being too generic.

 

Bad Girl, Good Girl:

Heard this before, LOVED it since I heard it! But I think it's too R&B to do well sadly.

 

I Go Crazy Because Of You:

Though I prefer Roly Poly, this would be better suited to BJSC I think and is still a pretty good track.

 

Madonna:

I quite like it on first listen, but like Bad Girl I think it has too much of an urban feel to do really well.

 

Ugly:

AAAH I LOVE 2NE1 :wub: This isn't their best track but it does show a different side. However I think I Am The Best and Fire (previously entered to BJSC) are more suited to BJSC and DNQd. This would do the same tbh.

 

Bang!:

I love After School :wub: I think this would do OK in BJSC but not overly well.

 

I'd probably go for I Go Crazy or Bang! if you want to do well.

Brown Eyed Girls - Sixth Sense

 

This track has instruments tied along the background of the music and is much different to the K-Pop scene. A comeback by the Brown Eyed Girls after 2 years, it has been hugely successful so far ranking #1 in most music portals. This video is also symbolic in that it has a meaning around it, making Brown Eyed Girls' track a fierce image one.

Previously entered before in the BJSC, however this track is totally different in that it focuses on the emotion and vocals of the song compared to the heavy production of their songs

 

 

After School - Bang!

 

After School's hit track re-composed into Japanese for their Japan debut, famous for using drums by the members themselves!

@Liam, I expected you to hear most of them :P But do give me a review of what you think will do best/like best!

 

@Eyes My favourite is Sixth Sense at the moment, hence #1 on my personal chart. I would say Madonna is a good choice and as for I Go Crazy Because Of You, i'm just afraid that some people think of it as far too generic beats wise. Seeing as some people like the IU song choice for the current contest, although I thought it would only go top 25 at best is a surprise as some commented on more of the instrumental rather than vocals as they don't understand it. I do love Sixth Sense's instrumental though.... it's far too good to ignore :lol: There's an only instrumental of Sixth Sense, however it's not on YouTube yet and only on their album :P

@Liam, Oh you think Sixth Sense won't do well? Wouldn't it be more of a hate/love track? Shame as I was strongly considering sending this song as I love it. Maybe I Go Crazy Because Of You is best choice then since both you and Eyes said it would be best choice...

 

Would sending an instrumental be better than with vocals then? I wonder how songs with no vocal fare in BJSC..

Daehun placed 7th place (unconfirmed yet..) in the finals, a much drastic improvement compared to our debut contest! :cheer: . As a result, our emperor has entertained us with a small dance to show off his proudness of our rookie country who has yet to gain a status in the BuzzJack Song Contest!

Daehun's official entry for the upcoming BuzzJack has been decided, EVEN without hearing the track. Music Chairman, Jonghyun, is currently waiting permission for the usage of the song in the forthcoming contest!

Daehun is having trouble with songs that match up with the previous contest's choice, IU's Good Day

 

Daehun is currently in a crisis in that the list of songs we reviewed the the teaser we sent so far does not match up with IU's Good Day which has a superb instrumental. As the country is afraid to DNQ in the forthcoming contest, music chairman Jonghyun is working hard to ensure the entry would not disappoint the public. Currently 2 songs so far has been considered which has a decent instrumental but however, the country might decide to undergo a generic song choice instead.

I wouldn't worry about it. If people don't undertstand the genius of SNSD it's their problem :lol: Though I still think Sixth Sense would be a good choice.

We're not. We mostly send scandipop. But we have sent French pop, Russian pop, synth-pop and electro too. It's always good to mix things up ^_^

My favourite is Ga-In as well, there's just something about her that's quite different to the other members. :wub:

Agreed, she seems really edgy and serious somehow, which is very different from most k-pop stars. I think if/when BEG split she could have a big career like BoA :wub:

You don't have to stick with Asian songs all the time, you know. A change of direction is good at times. Just go with whatever you feel like, regardless of genre. That's what I do.

 

Anyway, :cheer: for you entering BEG. I really hope they qualify now.

We'll see, but since my country is an Asian one, 90% of my entries will be from there :P
