I know hardly anyone even cares about her any more outside of Aus (me and gooddelta :lol:) but this wonderful bitch has a new single coming out:

 

NEW look: check. New sound: check. Yes, Vanessa Amorosi is back. We caught up with the flame-haired pop star on set of her new video clip, titled Gossip, in Melbourne last week.

 

She's spent the past year in London, LA and Stockholm recording new music with an album to come in the next few months.

 

"I can't wait for people to hear it," Amorosi tells us. "This album is extremely different once again. It's liberating, a feel-good album.

 

"I wanted to get some positive messages out there. I wanted people to connect and relate with me through my life experiences."

 

The single, out this Friday, was inspired by nights out partying in London and about girls gossiping in the toilets.

 

Amorosi filmed the clip at a Melbourne mansion, Labassa, and also revealed that she'd struggled with making videos for her songs in the past.

 

"When I was younger I found it really horrifying and there was never any enjoyment in that kind of stuff," she said.

 

"But now that I have a great team and I've grown up a lot more, I understand it. I definitely have a lot more fun."

 

 

:w00t: Actually really excited! I'm hoping more of an electro sound, like she flirted with in Off On My Kiss and Mr Mysterious.

I played Absolutely Everybody on Turntable.fm in the Popjustice room to a great reception (over 70%) the other day, very pleased to have her back!

Excuse me, I'm one of the biggest fans of Hazardous on this site! WHERE IS MY MENTION?

 

I'd rather it was something melodic a la the title song or This Is Who I Am than something stuttery-electro like Mr Mysterious.

I'd rather it was something more akin to Higher Ground, Sleep With That or Show Me How To Love with some HOT VOX, but I'm sure it'll be good whatever is. Unless it's Snitch 2.0.

This is now available to hear to anybody who signed up to that link earlier in the week, I like it on first listen.

So I finally listened to this and it's actually pretty good. Not single material but fortunately the album isn't out until November so there'll obviously be more singles first.

 

LORD at the 'rap' though! Oh and the album is called V as in V for Vanessa and V for 5th album. She's looking good...

This song isn't doing anything in Australia so far which is a shame considering how big the last era was for her. It's not up the standards of This Is Who I Am but I still like it a lot (despite the questionable subject matter), hope it's not the beginning of the end for Vanessa :drama: Love the video though!
