Today begins the 6th FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany. 16 countries will battle it out.

Host Germany is the biggest favourite to win their 3rd cup in a row, this time on home ground. But will superpowers USA, Norway and Sweden prevail? Is this the year when Brazil, led by Marta, will finally triumph? Will the darkhorses from Asia (North Korea, Japan) and Europe (England, France) break through?

Group A: Germany, Canada, France, Nigeria

Group B: Japan, New Zealand, Mexico, England

Group C: USA, North Korea, Colombia, Sweden

Group D: Brazil, Australia, Norway, Equatorial Guinea

France 1:0 Nigeria

Japan 2:1 New Zealand

England 1:1 Mexico

Not a great result for England really, it's like the U21s and the senior men all over again

It's just English football  Far too much pressure from the media, and in the case of the senior men, players who don't really care, who have admitted they rather would play in the CL final than the WC.

OMFG England and Germany are OUT!

France beats England in the shootouts and Japan gets an overtime goal.

What a shame for Brazil...

If anything needs to be learned, it's fitness! The poor English team just defended for the 40 minutes I saw, just let France push and push them back time and time again. The number of shots pretty much tells that story!

Can't knock the team for effort though, I mean half of them were injured and carried on. Now if Lampard sprained his finger he'd be straight off!
