I'm falling in love with this woman. 'Beat Of My Drum' and now this are AMAZING.
This has really grown on me, so much better than BOMD

The confirmed release date is September 18th.

Love love love that artwork! And I'm glad it's not On Air/On Sale this time, her record company handled 'Beat of My Drum' awfully with - here's hoping Nicola has a huge hit on her hands! :D

I hope so, at least a top 20 hit, but I'd love a top 10 position. :D

Nicola's blog:

Hello,

We had a great trip to New York, it went a little like this...

We landed late last Wednesday evening and I went straight to meet my video director and producer for 'Lucky Day'. It was nice to meet the team after only speaking over the phone or by email. After our meeting, my nervous shoulders went down a few notches because I knew from Stephan and the team that we were all on the same page and I was excited for us to work together. My great video commissioner Ross at the label had landed me the director of photography that works with Hype Williams - my man did good!

Stephan my director had only really worked with indie bands, like White Lies. I knew he had never shot a pop video before, but I liked that. He's one of those trendy guys into trendy things and he said he wouldn't usually do it but he thought I was cool (thats nice isn't it) and so we both gave each other a chance in that respect!

Thursday morning, we had a couple of hours spare so we went to Central Park. I thought I was being clever by wearing my trainers but it was a bad move! It was 115 degrees...my little feet swelled so bad, my hair was like a ginger afro, not even a cool one and I was so hot I couldn't cope! It was a joke. I thought 'how the hell are we going to shoot in this'! Later that day, we walked through through the locations and I really got a sense of New York. We were watching the boys skateboarding in the park and I got my producer to go over and ask this boy if he wanted to be in my music video. He was so cool looking - I said I'd rather do that then get some "jazz hands guys" in it!

The BIG day!

The video was really relaxed.. it was SO SO hot! I was literally dripping! Not nice! In between takes I had about 5 fans on me, one up the front of my dress, one up the back of my dress. I was wearing trainers again - I learnt from the day before that I needes to bandage my feet up so they couldn't expand anymore! We couldn't play music on the street so I was wearing an ear piece with my track playing. Loads of people were stopping and looking at me like I'd lost it, jumping up and down to what they thought was no music playing! Gotta do what you gotta do! Everyone worked so hard in getting the video together considering the conditions, I was really grateful!

Before our flight back we went to the top of the empire state building! I think it's important when you travel to an amazing place that you see as much of it as possible. Then it feels like you have properly been there and it's real in your head. In the early days of the band we would travel somewhere and only ever see the hotel room or tv studio - and when people used to ask me where I've been or what it was like, I couldn't tell them because it felt like so much of a blur. I want to take as much of it in as possible. It's ungrateful to be given these opportunities and not embrace them with both hands don't you think?

Had the worst flight back and then went straight to Kimberley's premiere. It was really nice to see Sarah and Kimberley and we had a good time supporting Kimba.

I told management I needed a couple of days off. Really I went into the studio but had to say that as they would have put something in and I wouldn't have had the time to do studio. I really miss being at the studio. My body feels so frustrated without it sometimes.

It's Friday today when I'm writing this blog and I get the first edit through of the video tonight, so excited! Because of how much of a stupid perfectionist I am, I predict edit 7 will be the one I sign off on! It's always edit 7 or with the tracks its always mix 7. Weird!

I'm putting out a little snippet of Lucky Day, I hope your like it...it's very different to Beat Of My Drum but it's important for me to show lots of different sides to my album.

I've been working on remixes for clubs and iTunes and also a Cinderella's Eyes album teaser that is available if you pre-order Lucky Day...

Good times!!!

Love Ginge x

omfg how cute is she now! Love this song so much!
THE MWAH MWAH MWAH MWAH?

Yes and few other flourishes too :o

She looks so uncomfortable in the video.

Not really liking the song either, but I do want her to get the succes.

Nicola's on T4 tomorrow, I'm guessing she'll be performing this.
Has grown on me MAJORLY. Still prefer 'Beat of My Drum' but this is rather lovely too.

Channel 4 really have taken a shining to her! Pretty sure ALL of her video airplay was on 4music and she was on t4 on the beach/standard t4 for BOMD as well
is this actually out then? if so could i have a link please?
This sounds really good. I have to say that Nicola has really surprised me so far - Disco, Blisters et al, Porcelain Heart and this are superb pop songs and I love the shrill quality to her voice. We never really got to hear it properly with Girls Aloud but this and Porcelain Heart show it off so well and it's really unique.

When was she on? have I missed it?

No she isn't on today... I thought it said she was before Cher Lloyd yesterday.

edit; I just looked up the schedule and she was on earlier but it was the BOMD performance.
