If this is 'underwhelming' I seriously cannot imagine what people were expecting. It's a better comeback single than pretty much any other diva of the last six months has managed...

I don't find it 'underwhelming' as such, it's just that it's not what I was expecting. It's more understated than I expected.

It's not a 'Firework' but I think it could be something better in time (no pun intended). It's a grower, unlike 'Firework', which is instant and gets boring after a while.

Yeah I guess I was just expecting something more instant. The chorus is great but it seems to take ages to get there. I'm enjoying it more on each listen though and I noticed quite a few reviewers saying it took a few listens to get how great it is.

As a track it's perfectly good but it all feels a little bit faceless really. I do enjoy it and it is a good comeback but I have a feeling it would've been better suited to someone a little more anonymous - it comes off a bit like a reimagining of Firework by Alexis Jordan really.

It's a very good summer track, but I hope it's a grower, as whilst I like it at the moment, I'm not mad about it.

I've played it a few more times and it's growing on me. Hopefully I'll begin to love it. ^_^

It's ten times better than Happy so for that I'm, well, happy! I didn't have wild expectations for it purely because neither of the singles from her last album excited me much at all (although Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Brave and Outta My Head were all :wub:).

 

I think people had set the bar of expectation too high, she's never going to be the world force that she was with Bleeding Love.

I'm liking it more and more each listen, loving it now! ^_^ I stand by my point that it's not what I expected though.

I think this is rather wonderful myself.

Wow. Wow. Wow. So different for Leona, and i love that straight away you can still tell its Leona singing. LOVE it. Definitely listen to it more & more then can come to a final judgement but how powerful is the 'Crash Into Me At Full Speed We Can Collide' lyric, incredible. :heart:

I'm not sure what I think of it on first listen. I felt a bit bored waiting for the chorus to come in, and as strong as the vocals are, it's just a bit boring overall. I quite like the middle eight though. I'll give it a few more listens (and a HQ version) before final judgement though.

I was expecting more from the chorus after the slow verse and build up.

Her vocals are great though and I'm sure this will grow on me.

And it doesn't really sound anything like 'Firework'. I guess the chorus is slightly similar to 'Firework' and the verses/bridge are like 'Happiness'.

Its actually better than I imagined, nice chorus. However, its a bit dull in other parts. Coming from a non-Leona fan,

I am actually kinda impressed.
