Am I right in thinking that LMFAO is the first duo since Pet Shop Boys (1986) to top both UK singles chart and Hot 100? Milli Vanilli, Outkast, Kriss Kross, Los del Rio etc all missed the feat.

Yep, looks like it! Plenty of duets have topped both but not duos that regularly work together. Strange that acts like Roxette and Savage Garden had multiple #1's in the US but could never manage one here!
Bit of a strech surely, LMFAO didn't top the UK Singles chart as a duo, the track also had Goonrock and Lauren Bennet credited.
I'm not sure if you're talking about more recent times, but Sonny and Cher reached no.1 in the UK and US with I Got You Babe back in 1965.

NOPE!!

Crazy in Love.....Beyonce & Jay-Z for one!

and i wouldnt consider the LMFAO track as a duo...since it clearly states the others on it.

"Crazy In Love" is not officially credited as a duet in the UK but a Beyonce Solo record

Duo is two people performing together regularly. Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne for example are not a duo as they're not a performing unit. Same with Beyonce and Jay-Z.

LMFAO are a duo but the song featured also others which doesn't make LMFAO any less a duo imo. PRA would've been a hit even without Bennett and Goonrock sharing the credit.

LMFAO themselves are a duo though. And they've topped both the US and UK charts. Therefore they are a duo that has topped both the US and UK charts.
