Posted July 17, 201114 yr From: http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/t...copenhagen-show 16 Jul 2011 Copenhagen, July 16th We are truly devastated to have had to cancel tonight's show in Denmark. This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band. It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonized over. On Friday night, Rob suffered serious food poisoning from something he had eaten after the show. He was violently ill all night and well into the morning. At 10am this morning, he decided to relocate to his dressing room at the stadium, in the hope that he could recover and prepare for the show. Doctors visited him twice during the day and despite prescribed medication he was still vomiting at 4pm this afternoon. The doctor insisted that he was not fit to perform tonight. The five of us then had a decision to make: Should we go on with the show without Rob or should we cancel altogether? What would be fairer to our fans? What would people want? It was a very, very difficult decision. In the end we felt that as this tour is about the five of us being back together, and about celebrating that reunion, it would be wrong to go ahead with the show. We also knew that no matter how hard we and our team worked, in the short time we had to make the necessary changes to this hugely complicated and technical production, the show could never be what we wanted it to be, and nor could it be what our fans expect and deserve from us. We are now back at our hotel and still cannot believe what has happened. Rob is still very unwell, and we are all just focussing on getting him better so we can put on our show in Amsterdam this coming Monday. We would like to say from the bottom of our hearts that we are truly sorry to all of you who have bought tickets for tonight's show. Thank you for your continued support. Love Mark, Gary, Jason, Howard and Rob
July 17, 201114 yr Author From: http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/t...ssages-and-love 17 Jul 2011 Blog Author: Robert Williams HEY FOLKS.. THANK YOU FOR YOUR MESSAGES AND LOVE... I'M NOT COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WOODS YET... BUT FEELING MUCH BETTER... GUTTED FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH THE TOUR... FEELING DREADFUL FOR LETTING THE FANS DOWN... I'M SO, SO SORRY ..... HERE'S ME AND MY DRIP....
July 17, 201114 yr Anyway, on this subject. I feel so sorry for the fans. Particularly those who had spent hours queuing for tickets or who had travelled long distances. Let's be clear. These things happen. People get sick. The last time I had food poisoning I could hardly lift my head off the pillow for 4 days (except to vomit black bile into my bedside bucket that is :puke2: )but.... Couldn't the rest of them have put on some kind of show for the fans? The fans could have had the PSBs and then 40 minutes of TT without any probs at all. Ok, Robbie's set would obviously have had to go but couldn't the others have cobbled together something for another hour? I'm sure Gary could have sang all the Robbie bits in the TT5 songs. Even as a mega Robbie fan and a non- TT fan, I think if I'd travelled to the stadium I'd have preferred to see TT than to trudge home again having seen sod all. Couldn't they have offered a refund to anyone who wanted to leave before the start or offer everyone who stayed a 1/3 off their ticket price or something? Or,if all else failed, why cancel? Why not postpone? You're not telling me Parken Stadium is fully booked every night from now until September. Or that TT and Robbie don't have a spare night over the same period.
July 17, 201114 yr I'd have been spitting fore but what can you do .... :o just moan about it & go home  Imagine having spent the money on flights hotels etc
July 17, 201114 yr So much for spending all that money taking their own personal chefs with them.
July 18, 201114 yr LOBSTER FLOORS WILLIAMS ROBBIE Williams thanked fans for their support after Take That were forced to cancel a show after he suffered food poisoning. The singer, 37, became violently ill on Friday night and could not recover in time to perform on Saturday. He even posted a photo on his website last night showing himself on a drip. On his blog, the star said: “Hey folks, thank you for your messages and love. “I’m not completely out of the woods yet but feeling much better. Gutted for everyone involved with the tour, feeling dreadful for letting the fans down. I’m so, so sorry.” The concert, in Copenhagen, Denmark, was the first gig cancelled by the band in their career. The group said they were “truly devastated”, adding: “It was a horrible decision and one we agonised over.” Both Robbie and the band hope to be back on stage in Amsterdam tonight. The SUN
July 18, 201114 yr LOBSTER FLOORS WILLIAMS The group said they were “truly devastated”, adding: “It was a horrible decision and one we agonised over.” Gary went on to add "it is nice to have a night off though, given all this X-Factor palaver I have to do!" That was a sort of joke by the way. Kath Edited July 18, 201114 yr by Kathyp
July 18, 201114 yr It said in the Sun (so it must be true) that at least a couple of the TT lads wanted to go ahead with the show minus Robbie. However, their 'Insurance' head honchos said they couldn't do that. I think because they were scared of people who attended trying to claim refunds because they'd basically been promised a TT plus Robbie show so wouldn't have got what they paid for. So I guess the Band could have 'made a loss'. But hey, so what? You telling me they couldn't have afforded to lose money for one night? I do think it's terrible that rescheduling seems to have been immediately ruled out. Some of the fans stories are utterly heartbreaking. One in particular on Robbie's official site last night had me in floods of tears. If any of you were reading the comments on his latest blog you'll probably know the one I'm referring to. Surely they can do something to make it up to these people. A refund ain't the answer.

So I guess the Band could have 'made a loss'. But hey, so what? You telling me they couldn't have afforded to lose money for one night? What they should have done is gone ahead (perhaps a shortened show) with just the four - AND refunded the face-value of the tickets. At least that way people who'd only gone to see Rob or Rob Plus TT couldn't really have cause for complaint. I reckon if we're talking an average ticket price of £65 it would have cost Take That under £3M - which I'm sorry - but to them (even the poorest) is small change! And just think of the goodwill they'd have got! The Take That fans would be happy and the Rob fans could scarcely have cause for complaint (as I doubt any fan who ONLY wanted to see Rob would have bought tickets - or certainly wouldn't have spent thousands on travel and hotel arrangements). I do think it's terrible that rescheduling seems to have been immediately ruled out. Some of the fans stories are utterly heartbreaking. Surely they can do something to make it up to these people. A refund ain't the answer. I agree - its really upsetting for these fans - again the feelings of the European fans seem to have been just been swept aside (I seriously doubt this was a 'difficult' decision). What I find even more perplexing is how bloody thoughtless some TT fans on the official site are to those who've been short-changed. Coming out with 'health is the most important thing', 'this tour was about all five of them being together', 'big hugs hun' comments - they're no substitute. I agree Rob's health is important and no way could he have gone on - but some sort of show could have gone on without him. What makes me angrier than ever is that its happened to the Danish fans - possibly the only nation outside the UK and Ireland who stood by Take That as a foursome. BTW - sorry for being a mardy arse but Take That make me angrier with each passing moment (oddly enough - not Rob) just Take That. Although - I must say - I thought it was a bit naff of Rob to put that picture of himself with his drip up! Even a sceptic like me believes him - he didn't have to show proof! July 18, 201114 yr Yeah, and the ones who are all 'There, There, Big Hugs, Never Mind' etc etc more often than not go on to add ' I've seen them 6 times already on this tour and they were marvellous. Chin up, you'll get to see them one day' A lot of those fans in Copenhagen had probably waited a lifetime to see them. Spending hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds on travel and accommodation. Unless the band reschedule (which has been apparently ruled out), they probably won't get the chance. I know life goes on but if that had been me I think I'd have been inconsolable tbh. Again, why not tell them to hold onto their tickets and try to fit in another concert? They are moving on to Germany. How hard can it be to move everything back over the border to Denmark once the German concerts are over? It's not as if the tour is moving on to Argentina or suchlike. If Parken is fully booked every night for the next few weeks, hold a concert in a field. It don't bloomin matter whether OM and everything else is set up. Build a stage in a field. Get on it and sing. It ain't rocket science. Rant over but I've become annoyed. -_-

No - what they should have done is gone on as a four and at the same time - given people their money back. Kath
July 18, 201114 yr No, I appreciate that. I'm not even saying they need to do the full big production number with robots and dancers and all. Can they not do a 'stripped down' show? I'm sure the fans wouldn't mind. TT have tons of money. Where there's a will etc etc.

In fact - its what a lot of Take That fans have been asking for for a long time - so if they did that - then the Danish fans would be getting a little extra. Kath
July 18, 201114 yr I found this statement on the Live Nation Denmark website. Unfortunately I don't speak Danish so if anyone can translate.... I *think* it's talking about a refund but there is also something about an exclusive presale I *think* for people who had tickets for the cancelled show. No idea what the presale is for though. I can't make out that part.
July 18, 201114 yr I found an on-line translation website. The translation is also gobbledegook. But if I'm reading it right, it hasn't been possible to find a suitable date to reschedule the cancelled concert. However, if and when TT (or parts of TT? ) ever decide to hold concerts in Denmark again, people who were supposed to go on Saturday will get access to an exclusive presale. Big Wows all round then. TT in Copenhagen. 2019. Maybe....   Edited July 18, 201114 yr by Jupiter9

July 18, 201114 yr Indeed. I don't think I'd be holding my breath. Not sure about the TT or parts thereof. Must be a dodgy translation. Unless of course they are being offered an exclusive presale to a Howard Donald DJ set
