July 21, 201114 yr Katy B should be higher her album is so amazi ng and she's so underated on this forum loved some of cassies songs as well me and u long way 2 go and Offcial Girl :) and Mary J is far too low as well
July 21, 201114 yr Inna is awful, a complete nothing artist who sprouts p***-poor forgettable mediocrity at a worrying pace. The woman has one song. That gets re-released every so often. Cascada is just Cascada really. 'Everytime We Touch' aside, foul. Things improve somewhat with the other three; Nadine was always going to flop but I enjoyed her album regardless and I can't wait for new Santigold material.
July 21, 201114 yr Inna is awful, a complete nothing artist who sprouts p***-poor forgettable mediocrity at a worrying pace. The woman has one song. That gets re-released every so often. Cascada is just Cascada really. 'Everytime We Touch' aside, foul. Amazing sounds quite different to the others, I think, and that's my main reason for liking Inna. The same beats are in the songs, and Hot, 10 Minutes and Sun Is Up do sound quite similar, but I can overlook that for fairly good dance music. Everytime We Touch is easily Cascada's best song, but I've never seen anything that makes me want to hate them. Evacuate The Dancefloor was where it started going downhill, but that was still a good song. And I still like their music now.
July 21, 201113 yr Author http://www.clashmusic.com/files/imagecache/big_node_view/files/images/pjharvey.jpg 77 65 Jennifer Hudson 96 78 NE PJ Harvey 92 79 27 Cheryl Cole 90 80 NE JoJo 89 81 NE Jamelia 86 Next batch upon us and again I'm surprised at new entries for Jamelia and JoJo. They haven't been relevant for a good 5 years each now have they? Jamelia's material was very hit n miss and she was quite a vile woman from what I've seen, whilst JoJo has apparently been supposed to be releasing a new album for yonks now. That said she did come out with some very good throwaway pop tunes back in the day (take note Rebecca Black). Cheryl Cole becomes the biggest faller in the countdown spiralling 52 places. 'Fight For This Love' aside, I see nothing interesting about the woman a all and it's evident that coupled with last year's X Factor, the mess that was aptly 'Messy Little Raindrops' and US X Factorgate that Cheryl's status as 'The Nation's Sweetheart' is crumbling around her at high speed. I am surprised she's taken such a hit on BJ though. With 5 'Bitch-Slaps', only one artist received more hate from the voters than Ms Cole. Welcome new entry for PJ Harvey at #78 - she's a favourite with the critics winning the acclaimed Mercury Music Prize in 2001 and being nominated again this year, in which she is a strong contender. -AWoZmAxKxg Edited July 21, 201113 yr by GrAmii
July 21, 201113 yr I listened to Laura Marling's album recently, its very good, I don't think I voted for her, but I'm glad she got a place here, shame its behind sodding Mutya Buena and  at Cheryl Cole's fall
July 21, 201113 yr Author I do promise proper lil stats and everything once we reach the top 30. I just like to oust the deadwood quickly :heehee: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/__mYMI8-rebI/TR33eG9d6DI/AAAAAAAAAR4/jM2ENHxnzuE/s1600/Annie-Lennox-Hiv-Positive.jpg 72= 60 Annie Lennox 103 72= NE Alexis Jordan 103 74 90 Alesha Dixon 102 75 67 Gabriella Cilmi 100 76 86 Lykke Li 99 A mixed bunch here. Alexis Jordan doing surprisingly well off the back of one album. Her hit potential has waned since the release of said LP though. Gabriella Cilmi is the highest placed artist in the countdown not to make anybody's top 10 (her highest placing was 12). Her career is pretty much on the slide in the UK, which is a shame as her last album was FAR superior to the dreadful stuff she was churning out back in 2008 (I will always LOATHE 'Sweet About Me'). Alesha Dixon, sadly, is also a name of the past though actually climbs this year in the countdown. Hard to believe she has been involved in the music industry for over a decade as Misteeq's debut single reached the top 10 back in 2001. Finally, we reach Annie Lennox. Eurythmics frontwoman and huge solo star during the early 90s, I will always be a fan of Annie's quirkiness and interesting, innovative music. She's up there with Bjork I feel in terms of eccentricity. Sadly, one studio album has been released since her 90s heyday, though she did perform strongly with a Greatest Hits compilation in 2009, even beating Kelly Clarkson's 4th studio album in its week of release. ['Why' <3, 'No More I Love Yous' <3]. Annie also encourages you all to HAVE SAFE SEX. OJHdT1j6hH8
July 21, 201113 yr I might be partly responsible for Jamelia and JoJo. I like their old material. Cheryl Cole's fall is the most hilare thing about this countdown so far though. http://forum.canterlot.net/images/emotes/mlp-dlulz.png I don't hate the woman, but she hasn't come out with the best material. ETA: Ah, my golden two. I love Alexis http://forum.canterlot.net/images/emotes/mlp-robviously.png and Alesha. Really wanted them to do better as well. And I do love Gabriella as well. So that's three of my favourites gone in one fell swoop. http://forum.canterlot.net/images/emotes/mlp-tdown.png Edited July 21, 201113 yr by Eyes
July 21, 201113 yr Lol at cheryls drop only gave her 1 point fight for this love was a tune :) Alexis jordans album is quite good as well
July 21, 201113 yr Did not expect Cheryl to slide that much actually. Mind you, I won't complain too much. If only Nadine had placed higher I could have re-started my JUSTICE FOR NADINE campaign. A nice, pleasant but unexciting batch on the whole otherwise. I'd express disappointment at PJ Harvey not being higher but seeing as she wasn't even in it last time I suppose I should be pleased. Nice to see Lykke Li climb aswell, as small as it is. Pleasantly surprised entry for Jamelia and climb for Alesha aswell.
July 21, 201113 yr JAMELIA is an absolute riot! 'Vile woman' my TRACHEA. JoJo should be higher. The High Road is a startlingly good R&B-pop album, you'd never have known she was 16 at the time. Bloody Alexis Jordan above Alesha Dixon kills me.
July 21, 201113 yr 79 27 Cheryl Cole 90 -_- Cheryl's days on BuzzJack are well and truly over unless she releases another FFTL type hit which will have BuzzJack at her feet once more. Oh well she always has a place in her Soldier fans hearts
July 22, 201113 yr Author http://www.sweetslyrics.com/images/img_gal/973_barbra-streisand.jpg 67 68 Keri Hilson 118 68 34 Miley Cyrus 117 69 45 Jordin Sparks 116 70 57 Shirley Manson 112 71 NE Barbra Streisand 106 The less I say about Keri Hilson, the better. I can't abide her at all. Miley Cyrus takes a massive drop this year, in fact the second largest after Ms Cole. Despite finally making an album that was decent, it seems interest in the former Disney popstrel has been rather non existent as of late. Jordin Sparks' third album is expected sometime later this year, and other than Kelly Clarkson, she is the only American Idol winner to make any sort of impact on the UK charts. Her last album failed dramatically despite two long running top 20 hits though. Shirley Manson is rumoured to be working on new material with Garbage, which I personally CAN'T wait for as even their last studio album 'Bleed Like Me' was divine. Needless to say, Garbage are one of my favourite bands ever, so it's great to see 5 other people sharing their Shirley love with me. Finally, we come onto Barbara Streisand. I'm afraid I'm only familiar with her 1980 chart topper 'Woman In Love' (which was massacred by Liz McLarnon in 2006). Although, good old Barb is a regular mention in hit TV series Glee, I'd like to think her sudden entry into the countdown is propelled by Duck Sauce's hit named after the singer. Yus. That seems most plausible. z-CHEnJ7gnc
July 22, 201113 yr Jojo should be a lot higher has one of the best voices on this generation in my opinon her version of marvins room is amazing and a little to late and get out and leave are both also amazing. Big fan of keri hilson as well wanted her higher but didn't really expected it to be honest
July 22, 201113 yr Author http://netstorage.metrolyrics.com/artists/large/4619/81201774.jpg 62 25 Hayley Williams 132 63 58 Bat For Lashes 131 64 96 Tina Turner 130 65 91 Gabrielle 125 66 NE Nerina Pallot 121 I detract my previous comment about Madam Cyrus as Hayley Williams drops 37 places :P With no 'Airplanes' or new Paramore album to keep her high this year, that's quite a slump :o Still a huge fan though and I'm eagerly awaiting the band's 4th album set to be released in the near future. Bat For Lashes only takes a small drop this year, whilst it's encouraging to see some of the 'Greats' take decent climbs up the chart. I discovered a rare gem by Tina Turner recently 'I Don't Want To Fight'. It was one of her last top 10 hits in the UK reaching #7 in 1993. Coincidentally, 1993 was also the year Gabrielle burst onto the chart scene, becoming the most successful female solo artist of the decade and still remaining relevant until well into the new millennium. She's best known for hits such as 'Dreams', 'Rise' and 'Out Of Reach', the former two being UK chart toppers and the latter becoming a radio staple due to its inclusion on the 'Bridget Jones' Diary' soundtrack in 2001. Lastly, we have another new entry from Nerina Pallot. A fantastic, underrated talent who deserves so much more success. Despite a VERY brief commercial break through in 2006, Nerina has never won the hearts of the public, despite performing very modestly on this countdown. zUJDXZoJEAw
July 22, 201113 yr Jennifer Hudson, Tina Turner and Barbara so low-for shame.Jojo does have a really good voice but too many problems with her record company have ruined her career. Pleased that Cheryl is where she belongs lower than even Miley Cyrus.
July 22, 201113 yr I do rather like Keri, purely and simply because of her absolute lack of any personality and her refusal to accept her uselessness as an actual popstar. Stick to the writing love. Has quite a few good songs I admit. I've always adored Jordin, though I worry with this third album. 'I Am Woman' was awful. Fantastic to see Nerina enter. The new album hasn't quite been as brilliant as 'Fires' but still very strong indeed, and better than the last one.
July 22, 201113 yr I'm not surprised that Keri is so static this year given that the last album (despite being largely very good) went so under the radar and only really spawned one single that resembled a 'hit' anywhere in the world. Seems the label don't know how to market her. I disagree with Aled though, she's not short on personality. Miley is consistently in my top 10 most played on last.fm on account of being REALLY RATHER AMAZING and having easily transcended her Disney star status (for me anyway) so it sucks that she's fallen so far. I'm going to play Party In The USA on loop in memoriam. Love Shirley's voice although the Garbage comeback is so long overdue that I wonder if anybody is that bothered about it anymore. Jordin has a great voice too but her career has lost all direction and I wouldn't be surprised if the third album never even sees the light of day.
July 22, 201113 yr Shirley Manson, Tina Turner and Barbara Streisand (ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh :P) above Wynter 'Queen of flop-tastic dance-pop' Gordon and Cassie? :( Cassie is not forgettable, Me & U and Long Way 2 Go are stone cold R&B classics, and the album was shockingly great too! Wish JoJo was higher too, she's so underrated!
