Fergie isn't doing another solo album anytime soon apparently :(

Kate Bush  My favourite 'old' singer for sure!

Goes to show the mentality of people around here when they actually prefer vocal ability to personality and individualism.

I hope Shakira, Robyn, Avril Lavigne, Bjork and Madonna are all to come soon (all overrated imo)

Also hope Lady GaGa isn't in the Top 5 (although I can't see her coming any lower than #3)

Hoping Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Leona, Adele, Christina and Rihanna are high up!

Poor Pixie :(

Poor Pixie? #37 is very high for someone with one album!

Who I'd like to see Top 5: Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Nicki Minaj.

Who I think will make up the Top 5: Adele, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, and Rihanna.

I do kinda feel bad for giving Amy Winehouse my bitchslap now  although I've never been a fan of her music personally

Same, really. I'm not a huge fan, but she wasn't that bad.

Rose-tinted glasses and all that, but maybe it's just that that genre especially jars a bit with me, especially without listening closely, and she was a pioneer of that.

In other news, Amy Lee did well. :w00t: Bring Me To Life and My Immortal are just brilliant, and Call Me When You're Sober, while lacking a bit of the ethereal quality of the singles from Fallen, is still a very strong rock song. She has one of the best rock voices around.

And Fergie did do one great thing from going solo, she gave us Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)

It kind of makes my blood boil that JESSIE J is still to come. GOD her album is an abomination. Nobody's PERFICK indeed.

Pleasing to see Fergie climbing, her solo album was very strong in parts, and the singles were excellent choices. I feel she is far too underused in the band though, so hope there is a few more solo opportunities for her in the future.

I'd only actually heard 'Wuthering Heights' by Kate Bush before, but I've just given 'Running Up the Hill' a listen and really enjoyed it! My parents have a few of her albums on 12", so I might check them out in my spare time, then I'll try the latest album I think.

BEYONCÉ 2 WIN.

You can hardly talk when you were the one who heralded her as the new big thing all those months ago; I detested her then, and impartial to her now; it seems the reverse happened to you.

Make sure it's Aerial, and not Director's Cut. I've been told to steer away from Director's Cut as I'm not a hardcore fan, hardly anyone seems to like that album. Although it is just a re-make of tracks from 2 older albums.

I'd only heard Do It Like A Dude and Who You Are when I got into her and to be fair I still like both! I just hadn't counted on the fact that she would prove to be such an awful vocalist on most of her material (no control whatsoever, awful diction) and record a load of sup-bar rejects that were written for other people.

How Jessie J is above Janet Jackson and Kate Bush makes me want to leave this forum. I mean seriously, did everyone listen to the same debut album I did? :/
I love Jessie J :( I thought her album was surprisingly strong actually, the three singles, 'Who You Are', 'Rainbow', 'Abracadabra' and 'Who's Laughing Now' are all really good imo. I can understand why her voice may annoy some though.

Jessie J's debut was strong enough imo (a couple of dud tracks, a few brilliant tracks and a few good tracks) but a lot of artists lower (Pixie, Kate and Carrie for one) have much better albums. Who You Are (the song) is so brilliant it makes up for it though  I do see how her voice could be seen, but I like the fractured song, it makes songs like Who You Are more vulnerable and gives Do It Like A Dude and Who's Laughing Now? more attitude.

Random fact: Do It Like A Dude was originally intended for Rihanna! :o

Oh, okay. I think we actually own 'Aerial' on CD, so I'll be sure to listen! :D

There are a few gems on "Director's Cut", for example the "Song Of Solomon" is slightly better than the original album version.

Pleasantly surprised to see both Robyn and Björk still going! I'm sure had this been next week then Amy Winehouse would have probably been top twenty. Also, please include the top voter for each artist - I want to see who on earth holds Jessie J in such high regard!

The pitchfork review for Who You Are says everything perfectly really. Cannot STAND the woman!

Robyn/Shakira to win pretty please
