Every artist and label promotes differently, I understand that....

Adele doesn't make a lot of MVs - I gathered as much.

But to be able to properly promote some of the songs , in an era when the album '21' has such an immense succes , surely even Adele and her team know that videos for the singles are a must.

Even with ther debut album , '19' she had 4 videos - or more : Make You Feel My Love, Chasing Pavements, Cold Shoulder, Hometown Glory.

And now, we are on single no. 3 from '21' and we've still got only a video :RITD and the Live from The Brits for SLY.

Where is the much expected SLY video? Or the SFTTR one ? Considering the sales are dropping, both at in the UK and abroad a video could give a new boost to both album and single sales.

Are Adele's team lazy?

Adele NEEDS a video for SLY to even do moderately well in America now that it's her second single. Better late than never, I always say.

They could get even more out of this album with a few decent video's.

Look at the video for RITD, nominated for 7 VMA's!

I agree. I really don't understand why there have been no music videos from this era apart from 'Rolling in the Deep'. It seems as though the label think her songs can sell on her name alone now?
She got away with the lack of SLY's vid in the UK only because of the BRITS - she needs one for the US for sure! SFTTR could really do with one too for a little UK boost to get it top 10!

why is she sooo lazy???

Adele, get off ur arse & go shoot 3 videos now : 'Someone like you', 'Set fire to the rain' and 'Rumour has it'.....

why is she doing this to herself & her career???

why is she doing this to herself & her career???

Yeah, because her career is in such a state...

Yeah, because her career is in such a state...

yeah i know she's doing amazing but this is her most successful album to date and probably in her whole career and the most successful album of the year worldwide, so why didn't she bother to release a music video follow up to 'Rolling in the deep'????

i'm sure she could spare a few hours to shoot a video for 'Someone Like you' or 'Set fire to the rain'...

Yeah, I echo with what others think. Despite her success she should have really released more music videos this era. To a reasonably unaware fan, it's just coming across as lazy. I'm sure there are other factors though - But music videos are legacy and her music can't be heard on music channels (like SFTTR) and one day, she'll probably need lots of support from the music channels. If not for her career, at least for her fans!

Some of you are getting HYSTERICAL about the lack of video which is slightly ridiculous. Not all campaigns require the standard single/video/few promo appearances/repeat pattern. Adele is in a unique position being the omnipresent pop culture icon of the year. Her music is spreading by word of mouth.

'Someone Like You' didn't need one because the live performance did everything it needed to do: showed off how good she is live, her natural authentic talent.

Do people here really believe that an album which has sold close to 3 million copies in this country would garner any substantial benefits from original, expensive-to-make music videos?!

:heehee: at my previous post. Guess she didn't need one after all. It would still be nice, though.

^^ I know, right?

And I started this thread....

And here she is, slaying everyone on both sides of the pond and getting that no.1 on America with a ballad !

Now I'm content to say I'd have loved a video for SLY, adored one for SFTTR and still hope she will make the darn vids :D . But I love her songs so much it doesn't matter anymore (unless from a music video archive point of view, or from an artistic angle - I'd have loved to see her vision of the songs ).

For now we'll have to settle to the live versions and admire her courage to go against the grain and still be successful.
