Follow-up to 'The Reminder', out October 3rd. She's recorded it with Chilly Gonzales Mocky and Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk collaborator). 12 tracks.

Exciting:

OH MY YES.

The clips both sound incredible, loving the more percussive/orchestral direction. 'The Reminder' was probably my favourite album of 2007 and her absence on 'Forgiveness Rock Record' was both glaringly obvious and disappointing. The new logo is rather lovely too.

Valgeir Sigurðsson! Like his stuff very much! The clips sound promising, especially the first one!

I love The Reminder, it's an album that's grown on me even more over the years. It's probably a couple of tracks too long to be perfect though.

Really excited for new material, was just thinking the other day that it seemed ages since we last heard anything new from her.

I've had 'The Water' unchecked on iTunes for years. The album flows much nicer.

HURRAH

And isn't it slightly disappointing?!

I agree. :( Not as amazing as I've hoped.

Fingers crossed the rest of Metals will be much better.

Heard this the other day and found it to be quite uninspiring I'm afraid. Just listened again and it's not as bad as I initially thought but it's still only the standard I was expecting of the album tracks, the fantastic run of singles from The Reminder clearly gave me false hope.

Agreed. Compared to My Moon My Man and Mushaboom? It's dreary rubbish and she can do much better.

Well 'Metals' is as they say "out there now" and in somehow 'How Come You Never Go There' ends up being one of the better cuts on there. It's the same plodding, tempo, musicality and dullness throughout. There's a whole air of self indulgence to the record also which sort of pushes it away from the "MoR and boring" category and into the "bad album" category.

Dire.

Oh I'm actually gutted to read that, is there literally no quirky uptempo(ish) tracks at all then? :/
