July 31, 201113 yr NOTES ON THE CURRENT ALBUM CHART 1) By having 3 simultaneous Top 10 Albums, Amy Winehouse becomes the 1st Solo Female to achieve that feat. The only other Females to achieve it were the ones in the George Mitchell Minstrels. That Act had 3 Top 10 Albums in the 3 Charts of W/E 22nd December 1962 to W/E 5th January 1963. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 2) Amy is the 14th Act to achieve 3 UK Top 10 Albums, at the same time. It was last achieved in the Chart of W/E 19th September 2009, when The Beatles became the first Group to have as many as 4 simultaneous Top 10 Albums:, No.5 - SERGEANT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND No.6 - ABBEY ROAD No.9 - REVOLVER No.10 - RUBBER SOUL @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 3) With Back To Black at No.1 & Frank at No.5, Amy also becomes only the 3rd Solo Female to have 2 Top 5 Albums at the same time. THE SOLO FEMALES WITH 2 TOP 5 ALBUMS - IN THE SAME CHART A) Lady GaGa - W/E 22nd May 2010 - No.3 - The Remix, & No.4 - The Fame B) Adele - 2 Top 5 Albums at the same time, for the past 24 Weeks this Year - & for a Total of 26 Weeks C) Amy Winehouse - W/E 6th August 2011 - No.1 Back To Black, & No.5 Frank @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 4) With its leap from No.59 to No.1, Back To Black has the 2nd biggest climb to No.1, in UK Album Chart History. The 5 Albums with the biggest leaps to No.1 are:, A) 27th February 2010 - Glee Cast - Glee - The Music - Season One - Vol. 1 - 68 - 1 *** B) 6th August 2011 - Amy Winehouse - Back To Black - 59 - 1 C) 7th February 1976 - Slim Whitman - The Very Best Of Slim Whitman - 54 - 1 D) 19th February 1977 - The Shadows - 20 Golden Greats - 48 - 1 E) 20th September 1969 - Blind Faith - Blind Faith - 32 - 1 *** = The Glee Album was at No.68 as a USA Import. If you do not count that 'leap', due to that, then Amy Winehouse now has the biggest jump to No.1, in UK Album Chart History @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 5) Now that Frank has reached a new Peak of No.5, it loses its status as the longest Charting Album, that did not reach the Top 10. Until today, it was No.13 - 110 Weeks. It now becomes No.5 - 111 Weeks. That Album Chart Record now goes back to The Sounds Of Silence, by Simon & Garfunkel, (1966) - No.13 - 108 Chart Weeks. (The 2009 Hit Albums Book gives it 105 Weeks & - elsewhere - another source says 112 Weeks). Edited August 1, 201113 yr by zeus555

August 1, 201113 yr It is 3 Albums. The 'Frank/Back To Black' 'Set' is the same Albums as those at 1 & 5, but, the Double 'Set' itself still counts as an Album in its own right. Just as the 3 CD 'Set' 'The Platinum Collection' was a Queen Album. The fact that it consisted of their 3 'Hits' Albums is of no consequence. Amy Winehouse has 3 Hits/Entries in the current UK Album Chart. So, she joins the other 13 Acts who have had 3, (or more), Top 10 Albums at the same time. Edited August 1, 201113 yr by zeus555
