This was the first week I didn't really like Candice's look, which is disappointing, as she's still by far my favourite. Ashley's jacket was really cute and would have been a worthy winner but it was fairly obvious the dress was going to win. It can be reproduced for next to no money and sold on for huge profits. That was a pure moneymaking challenge - nothing to do with creativity or execution.

 

Now, about Kelly, I think she's a riot. So funny and 100% batshit crazy in terms of design aesthetic but I absolutely hated that look. It was honestly like something a 10 year old would be wearing in 1985. It was just beyond awful.

What annoyed me is that they keep going fashion this fashion that but this week it completely didn't matter. We all know they can sell out if they want to. Why make a whole challenge out of it?! Pointless. Just do another unconventional. Justfab already pay you money for this product placement but I guess a whole f***ing episode about them will pay double. Ugh.

Yeah that annoyed me too. Spend every minute of every episode reminding them to be thinking outside the box, fashion forward, creative, inspiring bla bla bla, but the only way to win this challenge was to make the cheapest, most mass-market friendly outfit possible. Also, that dress is available in literally any colour, from any fashion retailer in the world. There was not one thing about it that was unique. That episode was extremely stupid.

Ashley being thrown under the bus despite being the best female designer. Hell to the no.

Not sure if I would call Ashley the best female designer. She has competition with Candice - but they both have their own style and taste.

Oddly enough, they also have the same flaw. Candice does well with Black and Ashley seems to only want to use the same color as her hair.

 

I'd like to see them both diversify their looks, I think towards the end it could be their achilles heel.

I haven't posted here yet but I've been watching this season as well (my first time watching).

 

I loved Ashley's look, and I would've preferred her to win over Edmond. Edmond's looks are always so boring and obvious, which makes his comments about Ashley this episode very ironic. I've really begun to warm to Kelly. She may not be everyone's taste, but she has a strong vision and she's always committed to it, and that's her biggest advantage whenever everyone else is waffling. I think Merline might be the next to go. She's had flashes of brilliance but she's always so scattershot that they almost seem like accidents. She just doesn't do well under time constraints.

Very, very, very happy to see Swapnil go.

He was completely disrespectful to his model, he didn't listen to a word she said or stick to his design ascetic, so where the f*** did this design come from?!

Also very happy that Tim Gunn didn't use his save to save Swapnil, he deserved to go home this week.

 

From this weeks looks:

 

Ashley: Same color/print that she always does, didn't like the mid-drift/pablum skirt, but the rest of it was alright. Very middle of the road.

Candice: Didn't hate it, but not very versatile.

Edmond: Don't even remember what he did TBH.

Kelly: QUEN. I didn't think she deserved to win, but what she made was great and fit the brief perfectly. Really starting to love her.

Merline: Deserved to win TBH, I thought her look was the best.

Swapnil: *GET SWAPNIL OUT* So rewarding to see a designer crash and burn like this. I really thought he would go the distance but he couldn't make the grade.

I am basically halleloo-ing the entire previous post. Merline's look was stunning. Swapnil was ridiculous. Soooooooo glad he got sent home. Next week will surely be the Tim Gunn save one. I think Kelly will have a bad week, coz she will probably go overly crazy on the avant-gard challenge and judges won't get it.

 

The remaining five are so much better than the rest which got eliminated, it's ridiculous! Basically agreed with every elimination they had so far. I don't think this ever happened before lol. Blake should've been axed earlier but that's okay. I really thought they would drag swapnil into top 4 somehow. Very pleased this kind of behaviour is not appreciated or tolerated. you cannot treat your client like this. She was literally a mannequin to him, it seems. He didn't even hug Tim on the way out. Such a huge ego.

Also, after two very limited and sell out challenges I am sooooo excited for the newt week and avant f***ing gard! *.*

Really looking forward to next week. Love the avant garde challenges, and from the preview, it looks insane. It looks like someone actually creates a building costume, so takes the "take your inspiration from New York's structure" waaaaaay too literally.

 

Swapnil deserved to go this week. He treated his model so badly and I coudn't believe it when they lifted the back and he'd literally tied a knot in it to keep it on. That is appalling.

 

I absolutely hated Ashley's dress. That print was just awful, and I agreed that it completely cut her model up with all the layering around the waist.

 

As much as it pains me to say it, Candice's outfit was awful too. She really did look like a cheap hooker, and the blue fabric matching the blue clip in hair extensions was tragic.

 

Kelly's was by far the best. It was simple, but cool and fit the brief exactly. She deserved the win. Also, I thought Kelly looked incredible with her big hair and oversized suit jacket on. That's the first time I've seen her looking almost glam and it really suited her.

 

Surely next week is the last time Tim can use the save? I've never known him to use it this close to the final before. With the way it's going, I think Ashley could go next. She's just not cutting it at all, but I'm not convinced Tim would actually save her anyway.

 

Oh and GO TIM by the way! He gave Swapnil what for and it was awesome! The "go and pack up your things" moment was cold too. Not even an effort to say bye or we'll miss you. Tim was extremely annoyed at him.

Kelly is absolutely unintentionally HILARIOUS.

Candice's dress looked soooooo delicious and stunning. But Kelly really outdid herself once again. To make such an ugly fabric look sophisticated and beautiful in a very smart way. She's the one to beat now definitely.

 

All of them are ridiculously strong. Ashley lost her mojo but I think she'll pull out all her stops in the final collection if she gets there. The remaining 3 are however another league completely. Cant even begin to predict who wins. Its probably the strongest final 4 ever.

Edmond's look was quite blah with some keys stuck onto it. I don't know why they loved it so much.

 

Glad Kelly won with that good dress but it was not very creative structurally or design wise so Ashley should've been awarded with that win.

 

Both Jake and Joseph out in the same episode. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome :')

 

Jake's dog though :( :( :( He should've been eliminated because he's not a very interesting designer~

 

As much as I enjoy Lindsey's commentary it's time for her to go. By far the weakest one left there. And that other one I keep forgetting the name of.

Ashley has kinda fallen at the final hurdle. I really wanted her to win. :/

A little disappointed that not all of them really pushed the envelope this week.

 

Kelly: ABSOLUTE. SLAYAGE. I can't believe she's doing so well, I had her pegged as an early exit for SURE. I think she is amazing. I really loved her dress this week, I could have done without those side wing things, but it did provide some structure. To me it just looked a little old school leather couchy to me.

Candice: Loved her look too, great fabric choice and great 3D effect. The bust could have been done a little better, but still an amazing dress.

Edmond: A little boring, safe and I didn't really like his 3D design. Still very wearable though, but that wasn't really the challenge now, was it.

Ashley: Very disappointed in Ashley, she's really lost her mojo and I think if she picks it up and does well now it's not really the indicative of the success story we were looking for. I did like her dress. The cape was much needed. Wasn't a fan of the polka dots - but I was a fan of the overall end design. Her 3D effect was by far the worst tho.

Merline: Deserved to go, we've seen this dress before, nothing special at all.

 

The right person went this week. At this point I really don't care much for a Tim Gun save, they're all so strong. I wouldn't mind Ashley going next TBH. The other designers holistically this season have shown a lot more talent and confidence. Still, very happy with this Top 4, but I would like to see Kelly, Candice and Edmond as the Top 3.

My money is on Edmond being saved by Tim, definitely. It is annoying that they left an open ending to the episode.

 

Kelly was once again HILARIOUS in this episode. 'So my model walks in and starts saying some blah blah and i'm like shut up take your pants off'. I might've died at that part! :lol:

 

I loved Kelly's and Candice's outfits. Kelly's are always so f***ing cool these days. She's really going to be unstoppable in that final. Going from 3 wins to the fashion week <3 Best position ever. btw that technique she did in the preview for the finale looked amazing *.*

 

I agree with the judges' decisions wholeheartedly once again. I NEED to see Ashley's plus-sized collection. And Edmond's dress was f***ing ugly as shit. I just hope that they merely ran out of time to include Tim's 'i'm gonna have to send you to the workroom to clean up your space' but it's literally never gonna happen and Edmond is staying. So annoying.

 

There was hardly any big drama this season so I don't know what they will talk about in the reunion episode oops.

Okay so could they make it any more obvious? Even when Edmond said he was going the other designers were quite clear in that they'd already known, their reactions were so underwhelming!

 

I loved Kelly's outfit and hated Edmonds so agreed with the judges there. But Candice...hers was so much worse than Ashley's! Hers looked a bit rough around the edges but the overall look was amazing.

That ending pissed me right off. I can only hope that Tim decides not to save him based solely on that fugly disaster he made.
