I had no idea so many of you were strictly dark mode omg… lady buzzjack has a vitamin D deficiency, no wonder she’s so blue

she’s kind of the girl idk… we love an adaptable diva who will change based on the time

I’m so honored you used it as the sf2 theme (tho I do wish I used a color other than black to draw lol, black on blue is a lil hard to see)

I had no idea what song you guys were talking about until I saw the title but I thought there was no way until I looked it up and it was that song. I always assumed that was a top 10 hit!!

this is a stunner, hope it does well <3

can't complain about 10th place! i was hoping to just stay top 10 once it became clear the heavy-hitters would start crowding the top spots and I'm glad I just eked it out I was listening to a lot of 90s modest mouse earlier this year so it felt right to enter them here. not really fond of their material from 2010 onwards but "little motel" is probably my favorite song of theirs post-"float on" so I'm glad it found its fans here (s/o to @Viper* as well, I'm glad you liked it that much 💕) absolutely loved my top 5 as well, blink was destined to be my 12 bc I've been listening to an ungodly amount of 00s emo/pop-punk dreck 😭 but "ghost on the dance floor" is not dreck thankfully x ty @King Rollo for hosting, and congrats to @Scene!!

there are a number of acts/songs here that I love but i don't want to give premature hype to anyone bc it feels like that kind of contest lmao... we'll save it for the listenthru x

semi 2 is packed omg

bjsc 189 | bleary eyed – heaven year from the album easy (2025) very few "get it" the way bleary eyed get it. the "it" being that shoegaze is pretty, yes, but it also makes you feel like you're vibrating down to your viscera. it makes you feel like you're floating and slamming repeatedly into a brick wall, simultaneously. there's blood pumping and a heart beating within all the haze. i'm a huge my bloody valentine head (hence my mbv gif spam of late), and yes every shoegaze band owes a debt to them, but bleary eyed took every lesson to heart. it's there in the sweetest melody you've ever heard, and in the chaos and distortion threatening to overwhelm it at every turn. it's transcendent, but more importantly it's exciting. (album is incredible btw)

This is probably my fave entry of the past 5 or so years (which isn't saying much I guess given how sporadically I entered for most of that time), and I'm so invested in it that I'm more than a little anxious this month

Voted! sorry for the delay

Votes will be a tad late but they’ll be in

September

He’s been on a mission to depose bre as shock queen

tbh I’m not really bothered by anyone “switching camps” as it were! it doesn’t change what songs they’re drawn to… once a pophoe/althag, always a pophoe/althag
