  1. 1980 indeed is fantastic. I mainly also focussed my charts on UK Top 40 hits, but Closer is such a masterpiece, that I had to include some further songs from the album. That is a great intersection. "A Forest" also appears in my charts. Unfortunately I got a bit tired of "The Winner Takes It All", so that it ended up outside my Top 50. Somehow I don't feel "Antmusic" that much , but I really like Adam's later stuff particularly "Stand And Deliver".
  2. Sounds ace on the first listen - has Josh Wink somewhat his hand on the production - the "How's Your Evening So Far" part reminds me a lot of this: https://www.discogs.com/release/142358-Josh-Wink-Lil-Louis-Hows-Your-Evening-So-Far
  3. Hi Jade, I also like some stuff from the Tomora labum - my favourite is "Somewhere Else". I also like Lana's new song very much. Good to have the Slayyyter songs climbing - they deserve it.
  4. Hi, very good new #1 - this one grew for me too recently. Nice gains for FLO and Jungle into your top 10's. "Dry Spell" is a nice new entry.
  5. Hi Piran, there some bigger drops of songs I like. Olivia's new song is quite good, but it needed some spins to grow. That ANOTR sng is another grower for me.
  6. That #1 for Sabrina came unexpected. Voted for the next round.
  7. Here is the mixcloud countdown from 50 to 1
  8. It is Conan Gray - Vodka Cranberry - currently my #1 and it is nearly one year old now.
  9. Elton for me
  10. Congrats @Julian_ for winning this. Great playing - you did not use only the obvious choices. Great presentation @Calum - that was a lot of fun. Will now all rounds fully revealed? I would like to know how close George was to be promoted.
  11. Several good ones in here. I go for Mariah.
  12. It is time to reveal my favourite songs for each year of the 1980's. Let's start with 1980. I'm much into post-punk, new wave and Ska, so it is no wonder that this kind of stuff tops my chart for the biggest songs of 1980. However, some other styles also found it's way into my Top 50. My favourite band of the year is Joy Division, who appear three times and have my favourite album of the year. It is so sad that Ian Curtis died that early - he was such a genius and his voice was so remarkable and unique. Song of the year is "Enola Gay" by OMD, such a groundbreaking song for Synth-Pop and among my Top 10 of all time. Playlist I will also put the top 50 as countdown on mixcloud sourced from my CD collection, but this will take some time. Hope you like this compilation - more to come! All comments are welcome!
  13. Men At Work - Down Under Laura Branigan - Gloria Echo And The Bunnymen - The Cutter Kajagoogoo - Too Shy Icehouse - Hey Little Girl
  14. Never really get this first Cheryl era - I find that "Fight This Love" sounds very dated now productionswise. I like her later stuff much more - particularly "I Don't Care", which is a great BOP. "Evacuate The Dancefloor" was somehow a peak of the eurodance revival, but was a bit too cheesy for me. The Jay-z/Kanye tune is quite OK, eventhough I am not a big fan of it.
  15. "Vodka Cranberry" is really a slow grower for me. I heard it first in a pop contest here last year. At that point I was quite unsure about it. From that point on I have heard it from time to time and it was also featured on NOW 122. The breakthrough for me came through Pop Factor, where Conan made it into the 5. Last week finally "Vodka Cranberry" went viral for me.
