  1. I vaguely remember the 1999 eclipse and the millenium happening - I was 5 for these. Foot and mouth epidemic in 2001 was strongest for me as I grew up on a farm so it was very much a news event that was directly around me. I remember that better than 9/11 in the same year. I think I also remember the 2000 fuel price protests/queues/panic buying because again they were very strong in a rural area, whereas I don't remember Iraq war protests at all. I remember fox hunting getting banned and I remember the Fathers 4 Justice stunts too lol. Also remember the Soham murders, England vs Australia 2003 Rugby World Cup final was my first sporting memory I think.
  2. Sami Landri mentioned omg
  3. There must be number crunching that can be done to see whether tied songs that scrape through on 17th/18th etc. end up doing better in the final after having received a shallow but wide pool of votes in the semi or a few high scores. Congrats Botanikka! Delighted with my 15th place, delighted with a unique-sounding winner.
  4. You are welcome - I know a good amount of West Out West but that song seemed quite obscure given its view/listen count but really sounded like it should be a classic of theirs, great discovery.
  5. Also extremely surprised at the winner right now! I gave Botanikka one point in the semi and six from me in the final thanks to it growing on me, which has perhaps happened to others? Also delighted by the Eledan performance but wouldn't be opposed to any of the five tracks above it winning.
  6. Sorry dived in and seen the scoreboard which has been NINTH. Barker had borderline qualifier predictions - of course not taking this for granted and I'm delighted at one of my favourite songs of the year doing so well, but I swear my instrumental electronic entries consistently beat expectations!
  7. Voted with some movement from the semi.
  8. 12 Q 10 Q 8 Q 7 Q 6 Q 5 FSR Rontvia: Benefits - Land Of The Tyrants (feat. Zera T酶nin) 4 Q 3 Q 2 Cumulonimbia: Jacob Alon - Don't Fall Asleep 1 Q + New Lexico narrowly missed points from me.
  9. You don't even have to be a returner as there are some names and countries that I forgot or mix up and I've been competing for.... a very long time.
  10. My votes ended up being maximally alt and electronic this time, sorry to the pop hoes (except to one who I hope will be in the final).
  11. Kalush Orchestra - Stefania Jamala - 1944 Nemo - The Code Loreen - Tattoo JJ - Wasted Love M氓neskin - Zitti E Buoni DARA - Bangaranga Salvador Sobral - Amar Pelos Dois Duncan Laurence - Arcade Netta - Toy
  12. I didn't know what I'd end up doing tbh but I ended up just tuning in for the results, more because I was interested (horrified) in the political fallout if the worst happened. I heard France and UK's entry and knew about Delta but don't think I heard any other entry and, other than seeing Bulgaria's winning performance just now, it will probably stay that way.
  13. I think Bulgaria got 312 points if my maths was right.
  14. Thanks to the low totals for France I don't think Israel can win, but I might be calculating wrong lmao
  15. Finland's total is bad news.
