Posted August 4, 201113 yr tKtUO3Glvuc Wilfred is a half-hour, live-action comedy about Ryan, a young man struggling unsuccessfully to make his way in the world until he forms a unique friendship with Wilfred, his neighbour's canine pet. Elijah Wood (The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Happy Feet) stars as Ryan and Jason Gann, who co-created and starred in the Australian series, plays the title character, Wilfred. Everyone else sees Wilfred as just a dog, but Ryan sees a rude, somewhat surly, yet irrepressibly brave and honest Australian bloke in a cheap dog suit. While leading him through a series of comedic and existential adventures, Wilfred the dog shows Ryan the man how to overcome his fears and embrace the world around him. It airs on FX in the US on Thursdays at 10/9c because the humour is pretty sexual in places, and there have been six episodes so far. Ratings have been really good so for, so it should get a second season pick-up soon :D I don't think the trailer makes it look as good as it is, I've found it very enjoyable so far. But if anyone wants to check it out it is 'coming soon' to BBC3. Edited August 9, 201113 yr by Jáhq
August 4, 201113 yr I think this looks SO weird! It's just such a bizzare idea for a comedy, it sounds like something a children's show on CBeebies or maybe CBBC would do.
August 4, 201113 yr Author My other half is PESTERING me to watch this. Is it really that good?! It isn't AMAZING, but it's worth checking out at least the pilot to see if it's your kinda thing, and I'm still really liking it. Depends on what kind of humour people like really. I think this looks SO weird! It's just such a bizzare idea for a comedy, it sounds like something a children's show on CBeebies or maybe CBBC would do. I thought the concept sounded really weird, but I think it works. It certainly isn't the sort of thing you'd see on CBBC either, it's rated MA (mature adult) and has a lot of sexual references

August 5, 201113 yr Cant stand Wilfred...Wasn't a fan of the original or this remake. Just bleh :puke:
August 9, 201113 yr Author BBC 3, next Tuesday at 10:30pm starting with a double bill if anyone is interested.
August 10, 201113 yr Work for Elijah Wood really has dried up since LOTR  I'll watch it anyways, looks alright and Elijah is kinda hawt :kink:
August 10, 201113 yr I might give this a go, I maintain that it's a ridiculous concept but people seem to have good things to say so I'll see what the first episode's like!
September 9, 201113 yr Author I doubt anyone is still interested this, but after a weaker couple of episodes, last nights US finale was great. A brilliant twist & cliffhanger, four different things seem to be up in the air so I'm really annoyed that it could be June/July 2012 before season 2.
September 9, 201113 yr Actually love the US version of this! The concept is so left-field, much better than most of the stuff on TV nowadays.
