The successful appeals have started. A mother with two young children was originally given a five month sentence for handling stolen goods - a pair of shorts looted by her lodger. She wasn't at the riots at all but her lodger was. She has now been freed from jail (after a week inside) and sentenced to 75 hours unpaid work. That seems far more sensible.

It does but time served would have been more apropriate, but hopefully its the start of taking the politice out of sentencing

So is he telling us that he has been "completely fried" almost all the time since he became PM? Or is there another reason for his terrible decisions?

Just gets more and more ridiculous this does tbh.... it's not like they've ever nicked everyone who's ever bought a dodgy DVD off a bloke in the pub, is it...? In fact has anyone ever been sent to the clink for buying illegal DVDs off "a bloke down the pub"......?
