Mexico City gets a second MDNA show

Madonna.com announced that a second show at Mexico City's Foro Sol was just added to the MDNA Tour schedule and will take place on November 25th.

Tickets for the extra show will go on sale at 11 AM local time on May 30th, while a devoted Icon pre-sale will start today. May 23, at 11 AM local time for Legacy members (12 Noon local time for Live Pass members - pre-sales week #15).

Abu Dhabi - and Benassi - ready to rock ’n’ roll

Italian deejay and producer Benny Benassi spoke to the Saudi Gazette ahead of the MDNA tour dates in the Emirates on June 3 and 4, and discussed his favorite music and his first ever concert with Madonna in the Middle East next month.

How do you feel about performing with Madonna in the UAE?

Really honored. Im greatly looking forward to it.

 

What makes this concert different from your previous performances?

Well, Im a support act for the biggest pop icon in the world! So, its definitely different from what I normally do.

 

Are you looking for something special this time on your trip to the UAE?

I always look for that special vibe when I connect with the audience and the atmosphere is just right. I really want to hit that vibe on these shows.

 

How has the electronic dance music scene changed since I Feel So Fine to your latest Spaceship?

Its grown enormously. DJs have become personalities and the technology for DJs has changed a lot.

 

Which of your three tracks on MDNA is your favorite and why?

This is one of those questions I never know how to answer because I change my mind every day, according to my mood. I really like all the three, thats the truth. Right now, its the single, Girl Gone Wild but it could change in half an hour!

 

What is your favorite track at the moment?

There are lots. I really like Monolith by Congorock, who is a friend and works with us.

 

Is there anyone you want to collaborate with at this point?

Still many people out there Id be honored to work with.

 

Any message for your fans in the UAE?

Thank you so much for all your support. You are the people who have made my career possible and I appreciate that!

You produced three tracks on Madonnas latest album, what was it like to work with the Queen of Pop?

It was an amazing experience an honour and very stimulating. Madonna is extremely professional and knows exactly what she wants.

 

Do you ever get tired of playing your mega-hit Satisfaction?

That track kick-started my international career, I will never get tired of it! But I often play different remixes or just use some elements mixed over other songs.

 

How do you prepare for your gigs?

I dont prepare my sets in great detail. I have a selection of tracks Im feeling and then I need to feel the vibe from the crowd and take them on a musical journey. Ill be thinking of Madonna fans when I prepare for this gig!

 

Youve done remixes for the likes of Goldfrapp and OutKast, whats been your fave song to recreate?

One of my favourites is the remix we did for Faithless. Ive always been a big fan.

 

Youve been to the UAE before, what keeps you coming back?

Ive been to Dubai several times and I always enjoy the architecture, the location on the sea and the food!

 

Where do you keep your Grammy Award?

I keep it in the studio, on the coffee machine!

Israeli entertainment channel "Hot Entertainment" had a special interview on their "Hot News" program with Avner Madar - leader of the Kabbalah Center in Tel Aviv.

Madar spoke about Madonna's special connection to Israel saying; "to see Madonna being so excited when she's coming here... she genuinely love Israel. The way she acts with such respect and admiration every time she visits. She love this country so much. She loves visiting the holy places, she loves Jerusalem. She is happy every time as if it was her first."

 

He then continued: "I miss her a lot. I want to see her, talk to her..."

When asked about her schedule, Madar said, she is a private person and manges her time but he also added that "She will be here in the centre for the holy day of "Shavu'ot" (which is celebrated this weekend), but I think most of her time she'll spend in rehearsals and travelling to holy cites."

 

About Madonna's first ever visit to the Kabbalah Centre he said: "She just walked into a class room one day. She didn't ask for a privet class or any special treatment. She simply walked in and set on a chair..."

"The irony... it's almost ridicules - that the teacher didn't even recognised her. He simply didn't knew who Madonna is!"

 

When asked about the tour Madar replied:

"Her show is outstanding. I went to a few of her shows before... It's... emotional... to the point of heaving tears in your eyes. I love her energy, her charisma and personally I love her music very much."

 

Madonna and her crew are planned to be landing in Israel later on today, or tomorrow morning right before the entering of Shabat.

Beaking news from Israel - tv host Conan O'Brien is a special guest at Madonna's MDNA tour opening night in Israel next week.

US TV host Conan O'brien will come to Israel a day before Madonna's MDNA TOUR, to have a special coverage of the queen of pop's opening night show in Israel.

 

His "Conan" late night show got the exclusive deal to have a full covarage of the event, and it will be featured in a dedicated TV special. O'Brien will come to Israel with a crew of 20 people and will have 3 broadcasting teams.

The Conan show is being broadcast on US cable channel TBS.

 

In other related news, words are in that among the many guests Madonna has invited to opening night of her tour are Sacha Baron Cohen and Natalie Portman - both have families in Israel, and will arrive to the country in a few days time.

After defining each track in a revamped listing, MDNA is a strong return-to-form album that is undoubtedly Pop. This is rather unlike to Madonna's last outing, 2008's Hard Candy that leans heavily on Urban/R&B numbers. Strong as it is, MDNA would have benefited a lot more if it adhered to a majority producer. The album may be cohesive but the songs would be more unified if say, only one or two producers were doing the job. It actually has more than 4 producers whose works never resembled that of the other.
