Posted August 19, 201113 yr New X Factor judge Kelly Rowland is set to release new music while the most talked-about show on TV is on air. Speaking on the red carpet of the X Factor press launch on Wednesday, Kelly revealed to interviewers that her lead single will be Red One's produced "Down for Whatever", taken from her third album Here I Am. Meanwhile, as previously announced the next US single is "Lay It On Me" featuring Big Sean. Our fave is set to fly back to the States in the coming week to shoot the long-awaited video for the US single.from OmKelly.com
August 19, 201113 yr So after the months and months of waiting on the promise that Europe would get a dance album orientated towards its tastes we get... a bad On The Floor clone from the US album. Right. I would be incredibly surprised if this got top 10 for more than a week (and without an X Factor performance top 20).
August 19, 201113 yr Down For Whatever is good at best, I really don't want her to have her biggest UK hit for ages with this :( Btw, she has already got a slot on XF booked, dunno when but she has apparently. I'd rather it was Turn It Up, Lay It On Me or a new dancey song that isn't a crap clone of OTF :(
August 19, 201113 yr Just took a listen to this and I echo everyones thoughts that this sounds like On The Floor, also sounds like Suave (the new Nayer/Pitbull/Mohombi colab) I would love Commander part 2, still my favourite Rowland song.
August 19, 201113 yr I don't think I've ever seen anyone else with such a foundationless and scatty career, she literally just chucks random singles out left right and centre and her albums/eras are so all over the place. The song is boredom. Edited August 19, 201113 yr by Silver Rocket
August 20, 201113 yr 'Down for Whatever' is 'Album Only' on iTunes, so it looks like they going to try and build up as many sales as possible for a high peak with X Factor.
September 26, 201113 yr It really is QUITE POOR (even by her own ropey standards) but given she's been the BIG BREAKOUT star of the X-Factor thus far and is "very popular with viewers" she could chuck any old rubbish out, put 5,000,000 dancers on the X-Factor stage and some crazy pyrotechnics and it'll still be a top 5 for KeRo. 1Xtra have already playlisted it. Will Radio 1 follow? THAT is the £1.29 question
September 26, 201113 yr the song has the potential to have great remixes, i love the single choice!! Agree tho it is very similar to OTF!
October 10, 201113 yr Single cover: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DlnrXg894Bw/TpMbqlUEEHI/AAAAAAAABVQ/p3hztz81ShM/s320/KRDFW.jpg Pretty much the same as the rest of the artwork this era
October 10, 201113 yr Why on earth are "The WAV.s" credited? They're not exactly KNOWN producers, nor do they contribute anything other than "Kelly Rowland - The WAV.s" to the lyrics  That basically looks like the fanmade art for it as well
October 11, 201113 yr The artwork for this campaign is some of the worst I have EVER seen for a popstar supposedly serious about making a success of her hit and miss career. Nothing says 'nobody involved in this project can summon the slightest bit of interest' quite like blue and purple light filters thrown on top of a dull, characterless image from a 'tasteful' nude photoshoot with a standard plain text slapped on top for good measure. Utterly embarrassing. http://funkysouls.com/img/Kelly_Rowland-Ms._Kelly.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/Kelly_Rowland_-_Here_I_Am.jpg How the mighty hath fallen.
October 18, 201113 yr Some video stills here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a34...s-pictures.html Looks pretty good, the song is also growing but it's still nothing more than a worse version of On The Floor...
October 19, 201113 yr LOVE IT! She looks gorgeous throughout. Hopefully it'll be a big hit for her.
October 19, 201113 yr Apart from the fact that Kelly looks ridiculous during the first minute or so, it's an alright video. It's very 'Super Bass', but with a song like this, it was never going to be anything original. I think she looks great during some of the scenes though  I prefer it to the 'Lay it on Me' video, but both pale in comparison to 'Motivation' anyway.
