Given the winners of the recent Q awards/their reviews/magazine in general it really must be a wonderful place to work. Where you accept the malignant for magnificent, the dowdy for the down right wonderful. Whatever major label throws to you coated in some thinly concealed indie clothing you just jump at! You don't look to find something better, you accept what is thrown in front of you. Garly Barlow is the year's best songwriter, Tine Tempah is the year's best male, Noel Gallagher is icon of the year.

It's living somewhere in the 1970s, balding with awful thick-rimmed-attempting-to-be-cool glasses, shopping at Topman but living in Kingston.

I pray to God that I never come across a Q reader OR writer.

It really has gone down hill. The last time they were in any way daring was a full page review of the Mars Volta's debut album back in 2003 which they really liked. It was quite a surprise to see such a marginal band getting a whole page for their review.

She's wonderful ;) I've got Between Two Lungs, but not yet Ceremonials :( I heard it only on my PC, and it's as wonderful as BTL :D The best are No Light No Light, WTWGM, Breaking Down, Heartlines and Shake It Out ;>

This is how I rate the album, with my favourites ascending (I dont have the deluxe but I downloaded strangeness and charm)

1- Strangeness and Charm

2- Lover to Lover

3- No Light, No Light

4- Spectrum

5- What the Water Gave me

6- Shake it out

7- Breaking Down

8- Seven Devils

9- Heart Lines

10- All this and heaven

11- Only if for the night

12- Never Let me Go

The fact that heartlines is at #9 shows how much I like this album, I dont think there is a bad song, but as everyone says, its a shame about the shit production, but once you get past it, its a phenomenal album, purely for the melodies and lyrics.

I think the production on Seven Devils is perfect, its so haunting.

I received the gorgeous limited 12" of Shake It Out from The Vinyl Factory website last week... STUNNING. Only 500 of them, white vinyl and a gorgeous Lagerfeld sleeve. Pricey. But worth every penny.

Dare I say that I found Q TV's year end list very good with its balance of great pop and decent indie?

But they also seem to have a fetish for the Klaxons and Editors songs released 6 years ago.

BTW, Florence fans if you want to go off the mainstream track a little ( fixes hipster glasses) I'd recommend Melissa Auf Der Maur. She's listed on Spotify differently, its Auf Der Maur for her debut and Melissa Auf Der Maur for her follow up for some reason. She's like a Florence with a touch more guitar.

In love with this album all over again bar 2 tracks (Breaking Down is pretty dreadful)... Never Let Me Go is just phenomenal.....

I love breaking down. I like how she just whispers.

Lover to Lover has over taken Strangeness and Charm as my favourite. Its actually amazing. Will it ever overtake my all time favourite 'Back to Black'? Who knows, but for now, I love it, and can see its not just a 'I love this so much Im going to play it 80 times this week, oh i hate this song now' phase. I think Cosmic Love from Lungs is pretty close to being ahead of back to black though...

HAHAHAHA I was just listening to 'Heart Lines', and and it got to the bit where she sings 'Wednesday Afternoon', and I just went 'Oh my god, thats beautiful!' HAHAHAHAHAHA I didnt even realise I was saying it.

This album is growing on me lots more now. I can also see why they went with "No Light, No Light" as the next single which is an absolute tune. Just a shame it doesn't feel that commercial but I really want it to do well.

Spectrum and If Only For A Night are excellent too, along with Shake It Out and the phenominal What The Water Gave Me of course!

According to wikipedia 'Never let me go' is the next single! Really hope this is true, as this is now my most played song on iTunes by a MILE.
That would be a good single I feel :D. I hope Spectrum get's released though as well.

'Never Let Me Go' is on the soundtrack for the re-release of Titanic, and rumour has it that its going to be the official song/ trailer song.

Imagine if it did a My Heart Will Go On <3

Obviously it won't, but great for her anyway!
