I'm sorry but nothing on 'Loose' compares to the naturalness of 'Folklore'. She sold out. She could have stuck to her guns and stayed true to herself but instead she had to go down the commercial route. I hope she goes back to her Folklore sound I really do but I doubt she will :(

Loose is great - for now. I can see my interest waning and probably won't listen to it as much if at all in 2/3 yrs time. Its great for a time but I STILL listen to 'Folklore' heavily now. Its a shame she soldout but hey I can hang onto the hope that she'll do something folky again :(
yeah in that aspect i agree, i will never tire of folklore, i am going to give a loose a little break now, and concentrate on Folklore!

A good idea :D

'Folklore' has just got a timeless quality about it, I will NEVER tire of it I don't think ^_^

'Loose' already has tracks that p*** me off and I skip :( Something 'Folklore' doesnt have :cheer:

there is only one i skip on folklore and its grass is green dont know why only listened to it once or twice, wasnt feeling it

'Grass Is Green' is awesome, the 5th single for Germany :o

I bet you skip more from 'Loose'

lol yeah!

i skip No Hay Igual, Te Busque and let my hair down. the three weakest in my opinion. Surprisingly i like Do It not alot of people do.

P.S i am gonna give grass is green another go

Its awesome

Damn your early thoughts  It is love  one of my folklore favs

I love 'Loose' but my favourite tracks arent the hyped up urban stuff, they are the almost folklore sound of songs like 'Te Busque' and 'In Gods Hands'

Folklore is an amazing album, and the sad thing is, I think we are seeing the real nelly now, as she said this

Sky news: Nelly Furtado may have started her career with a hippy-inspired look, but she told me she's happy to have left that behind for a sexier image: "I hated that look. I wanted to be the real me - Maneater is (the real) me."

and this in an interview with blender

When you broke in 2000 with “I’m Like a Bird,†you were a funky boho chick, kind of an anti-Britney. Now you’re releasing your third album, and you’ve turned into a midriff-baring sex bomb. What happened?

I made the new album in Miami and I felt really sexy there. Miami accepts booty! Plus, when I came into the business, I was really intimidated by all those girls who had been on the Mickey Mouse Club when they were kids. I’m just now catching up, accepting my job more. My video choreographer taught me how to move in all these different ways. I’m more at ease with my body than I have ever been.

Is your booty your best asset?

Physically speaking, yes. I like it. It’s good. It’s nice to have something to hold on to. It’s just coming out of the woodwork, though, so it’s still shy. It doesn’t want too much spotlight.

Your first record, Whoa, Nelly!, sold 2 million copies; your second one, 2003’s Folklore, sold one-quarter of that. did you worry that you were washed up at 24?

I was talking to Jimmy Iovine, the boss at my new label, and he thinks that Folklore is like U2’s Pop — not quite there. I wasn’t smiling and jumping up and down anymore; I was wearing a guitar and looked serious. Four or five songs have Portuguese folk music. That’s just crazy. After Folklore, I realised I had maybe taken certain things for granted. Like, isn’t everyone’s first performance on SNL? Isn’t everyone’s first interview with Vanity Fair? Doesn’t everyone open for U2 and win a Grammy? Whoops! I should have appreciated all that stuff, especially the free clothes.

:(

Oh that's just Nelly trying to say "I didn't sell-out". Why in the world would she write 2 folk-based albums, promote both heavily, hust the enttire process if it wasn't her?

She's trying to claw back some credabilty for selling-out when she always said she never would

yes her attidtute has just changed immensly, listened to folklore all last night, couldnt get over how great it is, i am afraid of going off loose this quickly so i have put it aside 4 a while!

Everything on 'Folklore' is awesome see :D

Nelly was happy with her old image I think, she's just trying to impress Americans by saying thye more successful Nelly i.e. the 'Loose' Nelly is her which I think is clear its not. If her old image wasn't her then why did she write songs like 'Try', 'Explode' etc?

I KNOW a large core of Nel's fanbase was offended when she made those comments, its like stabbing her core-faithful-fanbase in the back -_-

yeah it is vindictive actually, if she wanted to change her style, she should have possibly mixed songs on her new album, stuff like whats on folklore and her new sound it would work very well. Then come out and say, i thought i needed a change but i will always stay faithfull to my other music style, she's gone the wrong way about it TBH

Yeah she Wrote Try, i really didnt believe it until i looked it up, shows she has so much more talent to offer than what has been put into Loose

I MEAN TRY IN 10 Minutes then she comes up with something like LET MY FECKING HAIR DOWN. Its starting to boil my blood now!!

Count to 10......

Exactly THIS is why I maintain that 'Foklore' is MILES ahead of 'Loose' in terms of wuality and effort. 'Loose' lacks any personalisation, its very upbeat and dancey but lacks substance. 'Lety My Hair Down' is a good example what the hell is that song all about? Its vile and doesn't show the TRUE Nelly. "Folklore' will always be her best work followed by 'Whoa! Nelly' with 'Loose' in a definate 3rd place.

Even the videos from 'Loose' and 'Folklore' show the definate difference. 'Folklore' videos such as 'Try' showed creativity and artistic substance.'Promiscuous' is just another club video

Folklore is the only one of her three albums that approaches Classic Album status.

The other two albums have some great songs/tracks on them but they also have a fair amount of filler - which cannot be said of Folklore.

Ooohh Bump-age :D

This was a great Topic

Anymore Views?

Folkore is way better to me.

The songs have meaning, all of them. They are all unique, Loose is all R&B that other artists have done long ago..

I love loose too tho! :D
